Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

just a quick one,
Is nason done and dusted or will he return, I only ask as my other bench cover is robbie tarrant.

I'd heard he isnt playing this round due to a in-club suspension is that true, or was he droped?

As i might trade him for say PODSIADLY if he does play and looks promosing, as i have no bench cover atm

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

Just wondering if you saw Stanton v the Cats? Played very well 133 SC points best Don by a mile, with 33 possesions and 8 tackles, adds to his great preseason form. If the Dons had won, 3 votes for sure. You imply Melbourne and Richmond are rubbish? What are your veiw on the Cats? Only the best team over the last 3 seasons. Just remember he is only 23, hasn't even ht his peak.

Old post, but the Cats weren't tagging him, they let him run free. Ling's attention was on Watson.

Once he starts getting tagged, his output will drop...

Dude Nason is named on the wing played awsome last week just a couple of errors, but you would expect that from a guy who has never been to G playing infront of 72,000 people. He is a name of the future. So dont know were you herd that from, Get a better source, maybe?

Yeah I doubt it man, did you watch the game? He won so much contested ball, he is all class and still really young, this is the year he becomes a premium. If watson is the main focus that is good for Stanton as he will get to run a bit looser and pick up more ball. they will always tag Watson 1st. The dons have a few decent mids though so he has plenty of class around him.

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

Nasons not suspended. That's Relton Roberts.

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

nason named to start on the wing. zing! glad i ended up with him over silvagni even though he didnt score as much as him last week. i see him getting a fair amount of games and in particular running through the midfield a fair bit

not bad! but yeah as i have nason ill be keeping everything crossed he stays in the side for the majority of the first half of the season, even better if silvagni gets dropped as plenty have him in their side

Haha no dont say that. Nah Nason is a good dedicated kid, I have talked to him a couple of times, seems shy and keeps to him self a little, which is good coz you wont see him out doing a Lovett or a Stokes or a Fev or a Cousins or a Gardiner or a Shaw or a Didak or a Betts... anyway I think you get the picture. He is really dedicated ant puts in 100% in training I think Richmond have a good pick up in him, one for the future :)

Mitch Robinson

As promising a player he is he only got a 72 against Richmond and 59 against Brisbane. Although 72 is not a bad score if he can only get that against Richmond i don't have high hopes for him scoring well against better teams. Do I cut my losses and use a trade to bring in someone like Shuey or Bastinac? I do realise it is very early in the season but I can save about 170K and make more money off a young bloke. Anyone else considering a trade like this?

Re: Mitch Robinson

Next time post in the Trade Discussion/Player Discussion rather than starting a new thread.

That being said if Masten spuds it up I shall consider the best performed the mid rookie (that I don't have) but will probably do nothing.

Re: Mitch Robinson

I'm in the same boat with Robinson - from his preseason and everything I read on the Carlton boards, it seemed like he could be an improver and value pick. I was looking out for him in the game against Brisbane and I'd be interested to know what his TOG is because it seemed like he was off the field a fair bit, which is the death knell for fantasy scoring. I still like him because he is hard at the ball and can rack up tackles and constested possessions and kick the odd goal, but from what I've seen it doesn't look like he's going to get enough of it to justify his selection.

I'm of the view that trades are like gold do I'll probably just leave him, hope he just maintains his price or even has one fluke big game out of nowhere to pump up his price a bit, then he will be my first upgrade. Having said that, I couldn't blame anyone for trading him to a rookie since I don't think a big upswing is on the horizon. To me, Shuey is going to be one of the best money makers out there, so he's a good option. The only rookie mid I don't have but maybe want is Banner and don't like him as much as Shuey to keeping Robinson seems better for me. It's a tough one.

Yeah all I had heard were good things about him too but now I'm really second guessing my decision to put him in. With Judd coming back in I can only see time in the middle being further reduced for him which makes me want to get in Shuey or Bastinac even more. No doubt he will have some big games too but I hate inconsistency in supercoach. Might as well get on a young cash cow instead of being stuck with Robinson I'm thinking.

I have Banner already and after a 90 last week if he backs it up this week he could be a good bloke to trade in. Shuey is probably going to be that little bit better overall IMO.

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

I'm spewing that I don't have Silvagni. :(

Had him on the pine till close to lockout and swapped him out with Nason (have Maguire as other bench defender)

Wasn't really impressed with Nasons disposal last Thursday night and boy what a clanger king he was. At least he knows how to get the ball though and him playing in the midfield was what made me pick him over Silvagni at the last minute I guess.

Heres hoping it was just nerves that Nason had against the Blues which effected his disposal. He does look promising though if he can fix the clangers up.

Re: Mitch Robinson

Taking a risk with a second year player. He is still developing and will make some mistakes. He does have the capability to score highly though.

Re: 2010 Player Discussion.

I've never picked a Sydney player in 5 seasons of Supercoach, did this year and well doing great.

Malceski should be a handy pickup for any Supercoach, cheap and proven.

Seaby is another useful player, will no doubtedly rise in value.

Cam Hitchcock, is possibly the only small young forward I would play, quite often the small forwards are <50ppg. But Hitchy should be a pickup for any player

I think Mitch Farmer is another player that should do well for his price too, has had a few seasons in SANFL so should be ok.

Rohan Bail

3rd game for the dees but 1st game for the year; 103 supercoach points from 15 possessions and 1 goal. not a bad return. looks like a cash cow pick for round 4 :footy:

Re: Mitch Robinson

my rule has always been to avoid 2nd year players. cyril rioli burnt me last year, even though he gave me the odd 100+ game. personally, if you already selected then stick with him. but a robinson to banner trade is not bad either. they will score the same and you can use the $$ elsewhere to upgrade. round 3 trade will be to get in em rookies or mid-range players such as malceski who could possibly hit the 400k mark later and earlier in the year respectively.

Re: Mitch Robinson

My rule was simply not buy someone that I thought wasn't guaranteed in the 22 as a starter/smokey pick.

I personally see better value in the rookie picks such as Banner, Shuey and Barlow. I'd consider trading him, but you may as well keep him until he stops making money.

Re: Rohan Bail

lost us the match...bloody hell

That's a very harsh call. How can you blame the loss on Bail? What else did you want him to do?

SuperCoach wise I think that he could be a decent investment. He looked good today.
