A 193cm KPP/Wingman from Colts in WA who has been getting a lot of attention of Late and People from the West thinking they can take him in the Top 30. Some Eagles Fan want to take him at the Start of the 2nd Round. I heard the Pies are Keen if he Falls to Pick 43/44.

Be Intresting where he Goes.

Would like him at the Eagles with pick 26/28.:thumbsu:

That's what I mean by People saying he could go as High as the Start of the 2nd Round.

Reminds me a bit of Aaron Black Hype last season

He seems to have impressed people playing as a ruckman in Colts - he is too small to play that position at AFL level. How's his exposed form as a CHB or CHF? Good enough to draft him ahead of the key position players at the u18 championships?

My reasoning behind thinking he will be a good pick at 26/28 for the WCE is that I believe we will go with a midfielder at 4 ie Gaff/Polec over Darling.
Chalwell is also taller than Darling and has good skills and seems to have a decent motor with his beep test results.
Pick 26-28 we can go for a KPP which Chalwell looks quite good even as a Utility type.
He has played CHB and Fwd roles for east freo colts.WCE may even pick 2 KPP with these picks ie Mitchell,Cook or a Hamp type player if available.Plenty of options for them here.

So has he really came on late and past players that played in the U-18 Champs?

I honestly can,t answer that how he rates to other KPP from the champs.I work with a young guy who played footy at East Freo colts this year but has returned to the Pilbara who rates him.I will have a chat to him to discuss more info.
Seeing WCE only have the 3 picks in this draft and have been talking with him if they want him they will have to pull the trigger as he probably won,t last to the Rookie draft.

If Darling doesn't slide to 26 I want him at 28:thumbsu:
I'm a massive fan of the kid, moves so well for such a big guy, has great skills, strong hands... so much to work with. And he can even back-up in the ruck in case NicNat or Cox go down. Is only 193cm so many argue he couldnt, but thats taller than Lynch and Chalwell also tested with a 88cm standing vertical leap! That's a huge leap, so who could definitely ruck.

That seems way to big to be true. You might have got it mixed up with the running vertical leap. I didnt hear of any result like this, when i saw them post some of the top results.

Does anyone know where to get the results from for SS?

He certainly looks quite athletic and there's a fair bit to work with.

Given we really need another key defender, I'd love him at 36 if he gets that far.

Not too dissimilar to Lachie Hansen imo. Just going on that clip though.

Correct. His standing vertical leap was 66cm.

Doesn't look spectacular but does everything very well.

Can't believe he's 193cm?......The lad moves like a 6 footer

I'd be happy if he came to the Roos at Pick 27

Royal Eagle had this to say on Chalwell
Here's my Tyler Chalwell write up.

Tyler Chalwell East Fremantle 193cm 89kg's

Have watched Tyler all year in the colts, was desperately unlucky not to make the WA under 18 side like a lot of his east freo team mates from the country.

Was best on ground in the colts grand final dominating in the back half.

Every year there is country kids that miss out on the side that should have been in the side, and Brad Wirra has said as much about Tyler this year.

He has played as a tall utility for east freo from full foward to ruck the wing, full back and centre half back.

In my opinion the backline particularly CHB is his best position.

He is very attacking and has a strong frame that he is not afraid to use.
His reading of the play and marking is a feature of his game.
His kicking is excellent and has great awareness, rarely if ever gets caught.
He had very good state screening results very like Harry Taylor, a previous left field selection by Wells.

Outstanding beep of 14.5 and very good 20 metre time as well.

I have had a long look at other available backman, and to me is the best of rest. Maybe a reach at this selection but have a strong feeling he will justify his selection by becoming a very good AFL footballer. (Royal Eagle 4th Nov)

Have seen Tyler in Colts and Reserves this year. He moves really well and this highlight Vid. looks super impressive. Hope Dockers take a look at him
A great KPP in the making

Would 29 be too early to pick him up..paying overs? Then again he won't last to our PSD pick if we have one nor the rookie draft.

Prem from what Ive seen he just keeps getting better. Was great in the colts GF and just stepped up to the Reserves playing superpbly! I think he could be a beauty!!
29 too early? maybe but it is the Eagles last pic. Would like to see him stay here but Dockers have not shown much interest. Geelong and Collingwood i have heard are keen. I dont think he will last to the Rookie but hey who knows?

I very much I doubt that. What I am hearing if he is there for the Pies Pick at Pick 45 or 46 the pies just might draft him there

I've heard that he's attracted some strong interest from WC and some Vic clubs IIRC. It's difficult to predict where he'll go, because he improved so rapidly this year (apparently Easts weren't happy he wasn't selected in the u18 side). You could argue that WC going for him at 29 wouldn't be that much of a reach given the fact if he continues this improvement into next year he'd be well worth it.

Chawell should have played 18s. His versitility alone would have been invaluable to the state side. Could have played CHB and pinched hit in the ruck seeing that he beat all the state ruckman during the colts season (named ruck in the colts team of the year) Averaged 20 possessions and 1 goal a game in the ruck.

Unfortunately he's not from the country so that argument doesn't really count.
Have heard that only 2 clubs, West Coast and Collingwood, have spoken to him.
Not sure how much of an indicator that is of where he'll be taken in the natioanl draft.
Late I'd expect, wouldn't be suprised if he didn't get taken in the ND but in the Rookie.
Will be a great pick up regardless, can definitely see him playing as a Harry Taylor type.

Well if he does go late you would think the Pies will be in the Hot Seat to Pick Him. I have heard we rate him very Highly and could be taken at Pick 45 or 46 if still there

Nope. Id say he shouldn't be ranked that much lower than Watson on observation.

His agility, disposal and utility looks first grade. Reminds me of Tyte Pears only a little taller.

But he did, and you have both :D

Lucky buggers, I'm wishing he'd be around at our rookie picks.
