Jordie McMahon was a nice kick. Apparently still is. Shane Edwards has gone backwards with his kicking this year but your assessment of him is way off. He's a crap kick not soft.

IMHO Edwards is second guessing himself. Right now he works into good positions and starts to look short/sideways, then gets worried about his short kicks, then worries about his man, and coughs it up.
When he just goes flat-out he is good value. Even though it won't always come off.

Sorry thought u meant something else when u said scared lol. He was good value last year and was rated very highly internally. Was injured alot of pre-season with a shoulder so hopefully he comes back better next year and maybe with a bit more size. But yes, atm he has NFI what he's doing and his kicking is atrocious since NAB Cup round 1.

stanton is the worst "good" midfielder i have ever seen... Why are we talking about a trade to essendon? Saints would clearly trade with GWS if they wanted to start rebuilding with exellent youth.

Dal and Roo aren't going anywhere.

Armo signed a new contract this week so he's off the table :D

As for Goddard, I hope if he does want to go, he'll let us know this year and we can actually get something decent for him. Pick 1 in the Mini-Draft and a Top 5 pick in the National Draft would be nice....Of course would much rather he stay.
 
Interesting discussion regarding Goddard or Dal Santo going to Essendon.

A mate of mine was at a Grand Final Luncheon with a few ex Essendon players including Mark Harvey, Paul Barnard, Gary O'Donnell and many more. They got talking and someone at the table (from Essendon currently) said they are making a huge play for a superstar midfielder, in the "Ablett bracket" as they called it, and that the money involved was of GWS proportions. The only players that came to mind were Dal Santo and Goddard. Who knows?

Also Harvey was talking about becoming Essendon's forward coach next season after speaking to Michael Hurley (bit off topic lol)
 
If Goddard was to go anywhere this year it would be to GWS, as they would pay him more and have more to offer St.Kilda. I could see a joint trade being done, say Goddard and Dawson, or Goddard and Gilbert, for O'Meara or Crouch, and a high first round(5 OR 7) and a middle first round (13 OR 15) and their 2nd round Pick (31).
 
If Goddard or Dal go it will surely be to GW$ where they can push for Ablett/Scully levels of compo which imo is better than any of the deals posted to date
