Re: Who Going to Intra-Club Match Tommorow

We had one versus Melbourne at Vic Park, but all of the older players trained at Gosch's paddock, so it was a virtual under 23/25 practice match.

Names like Fasolo, Goldsack, Sidebottom, Witts and Ceglar were mentioned as attendees at Vic Park.

I'm sure Dave will tell us more later.:)

How did you find that out Matty?

Re: Who Going to Intra-Club Match Tommorow

I have my sources (Nicks BB lol).:)

I found out when I get to Training.

As they turned up at 8:30 and I got there and I overheard about the Game at Vic Park and I asked about it and I went.

Do report later as I am about to go out for Tea:)

Dave,

Apreciate that you might be hungry; however this is not the time :)

You do some great work buddy!

Re: Who Going to Intra-Club Match Tommorow

I watched the first quarter but found it very difficult to work out the players. They had no numbers and were wearing the blue Emirates guernseys.

Goldsack, Blair, Young and Witts were players I could recognise. The first three looked pretty good, but I think Witts has a very long way to go to get a senior game this year.

Be very careful what you say! There are folk on this board that do not want to remotely entertain any negative thoughts about our new saviour Witts!

Here are the Notes From Training

  • Reid did the Full Session and when the did Little bit of Match Simulation his Kicking was Terrific. Though his Shoulder was Strapped
  • N Brown only did about 30 Minutes
  • Swan Trained but when they did there end of Session Warm Down he Spewed
  • Pendles looks in Fantastic Condtion and Killed the others in Training
  • Wood looks bigger

I watched 1 quarter of footy (very limited sample size) and thought:
He didnt use his body to monster opponents like rucks should;
His marking overhead wasnt overly clean;
He lacks natural footy smarts (being from NSW).

I must admit that I thought Nathan Brown was terrible at FB in a VFL practice match against Geelong this time 2 years ago. So hopefully Witts plays in a premiership by the time the year is out.

Re: Who Going to Intra-Club Match Tommorow

I find it interesting that we had a scratch match with the Dees.
I thought that went out long ago. (Playing them against another club)
I couldn't see the Eagles and Dockers ever doing that.
I wonder who initiated it??
Bucks or Neeld???

It might have been initiated at a training session, seeing as we both train within metres of each other on many occasions.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the club that trains 50 metres from us is the club we play in our only pre NAB Cup practice match.

Swan spewed? illness or not quite as fit?

.

How many 18 year old kids "monster" adult opponents. No doubt he would of been a bit timid as well playing for the first time EVER against AFL players. Plus considering it was a LIGHT contact time, where both sides were instructed to NOT "play rough (for fear of preseason injury)" he would of been going way more gently than normal.

He does appear to be awhile away from senior footy, but i dont think 2012 is out of the question. I think he could rapidly improve in the VFL over the year

He would not be training if he was ill, and his done all of preseason including arizona with no complaints so its not a fitness thing either. Seems obvious to me he was just pushing himself too hard which caused him to spew... which is pretty common in elite sportsmen

Exactly

Re: Who Going to Intra-Club Match Tommorow

True that. Used to play with a guy who would spew at half time every week without fail. Though he did like his alcohol so maybe that was it lol.
