No, he just wanted Longmire 2 help coach the reserves more. They could have used him in the grand final

Stat needs to apologise.

Saw this thread and was going to suggest I dig up my old Horse thread.

In fairness I did qualify my comments as, IF we didn't make a GF in the next few years.. obviously we have so irrelevant comments.

Woot, congrats Horse!

Well deserved Horse!!!
After the last few of days I vow never to watch 360 again....listening to Robbo causes me to break out in a rash.

To be fair to the bloke said what a lot of us were thinking tonight RE: Charlotte Dawson. He's not great at thinking before he speaks, but sometimes that's a good thing, as he voices things a lot of other media personalities would be too afraid to.

He is a goose , stinky is his nickname as he never washes.
I will apologise to Longmire as i thought the club should have seen who else was available. Also the aquisition of Leigh Tudor and Stuey Dew as assistants has been a master stroke. All in all its been a team effort with Horse the leader.

Wow, would have through Sanderson had this bagged up. In any case, congrats Horse. :thumbsu:

Yeah i thought Sanderson would have gotten it considering the Crows were well outside the 8 last year and he took them to within a kick of a GF this year.

Onya Longmire though, i'll admit i'm with bedford, i was kind of iffy over the clubs decision to seemingly automatically grant Longmire the position, but he has been great so far.

Congratulations to John Longmire, terrific accolade from his peers and well deserved! As for Robbo I am blissfully unaware of whatever he says as I do not watch any of the panels for the AFL. Sometimes it is great to be ignorant.

Great article in the paper today by Wayne Carey (yes, I know he played for Norf) paying tribute to Horse.

I think the award says a lot about Horse, but also the long term structures the club has put in place. If you look at recent history we've produced Roos, Lyon (whom I hate, but he's produced the goods elsewhere) and now Horse, from a coaching perspective...I'm wondering if some of our assistants are going to be targeted by other clubs as the penny continues to drop in terms of the way our club seems to be fostering successful coaching practices?

I was suprised to be honest, he has done a very good job but expected Sanderson to to get the nod.

I was one who was a bit unsure when Horse first got the role because I didnt think he would bring in much change after being by Roosys side for so long, but hes sure as hell come into his own over the last couple of seasons, and Im happy hes the coach of the swans

Congrats!

Why, its voted by the Coaches so no one else can complain. Andy Maher tried to on SEN this morning

Happy with the result and im only a little suprised the only reason is because the award usually goes to the coach with the biggesst improvement at least that how i remember it and Adelaide were ranked no chance at the start of the year and became a real threat.

Congrats Horse, I was another who was sceptical at first but so happy to eat my humble pie!

I think this award is probably more a reflection of how all the other coaches saw the improvement in our squad relative to how they rated us at the beginning of the season, says to me that quite a few of them saw us on the slide and rate the rise and new game style
