Traded #3: Scott Gumbleton - Traded to Fremantle for pick 55

All good, I know what you meant but felt frustrated by the last page or 2.

He'll get a game with us (Gumby), and I have enough faith to back him to maintain his spot once he gets it, not saying he will ever set the world on fire but he will get the job done. Just like he did in his few games this year, he was good given the circumstances. JD shouldn't be threatening him too much next year and who knows what Hurley's going to be doing.

I don't think Gumby is what the Dogs need, just like Melb they are in too bad a of a position to risk with his injuries. 1 quick big injury and he's boderline done, Dogs need someone more stable and it's better off to wait. Freo I could understand and they're the only one's who I'd really deal with unless someone else wanted to give up something rediculous.

He's got such a following here I think he'd be ******* stupid to leave, other clubs fans just won't have the same love we have for him after all the crap we've been through, and as morebeer said that's probably why we want something rediculous for him to leave. Now I feel like I'm just repeating everything that has already been said.

He just needs to come home so we can all be one big happy family again.
Thanks lone_wolf. His popularity is evident on here which probably says something about the guy. Love your avatar by the way.

Would definitely be a tough gig for him playing for us, no doubt about that. I hope we just hit the draft unless he came ridiculously cheaply, which he probably wouldnt.

So glad we didn't get Dawes by the way Dodged a bullet there.

Enjoy the off-season guys.

Obviously everyone knows his injury history but what intrigues me is why we haven't offered him a 2 year deal? Surely at least a 1 + 1 year performance deal would be on the table? Are we actually seeking out trade possibilities by offering 1 year only??

I suspect we're lowballing him.

I actually think Gumby would be good for the Dogs. He'd get a game every week. He kicked 4 against the Hawks when we were being belted so shows he could still have value at a lower club. Not sure how the dogs fans could be so blase whether they get him or not. They need someone like that and if they don't have to give him a huge contract.

We value him still because some can still see his potential upside. Yeah sure he could get injured again but.....
Whereas Grant, I think everyone knows there ain't no more upside.

Personally I hope we offer Gumby 2 more years but can see the club's stance on this.

I hope he stays too

Broughton is a great player and all- I'll be honest and say I dont know much about him but doesnt he play a very similar role to Goddard, or at least what Goddard has played in the past

I would take higgins for Gumby.. I think higgins has upside and if Gumby doesn't want to stay then what can we do?

I would prefer Gumby at the dogs than Freo..

So one injury riddled player for another?

Gumby is about to come good, I'd rather keep him, so we have the option of playing Hurley down back if need be

Nah, Higgins at his best is good but he is a marshmallow. Id rather take their pick in the 20's if we couldnt keep Gumby.... wishful thinking.

Maybe I'm reading too much into what he's saying. He could have said couple of weeks, and they do have a history of pushing players into to the PSD.

They also have a history of zero premierships - nobody gives a shit what Freo says.

yeah that may be true...but Lyon has transformed that club in 12 months..on and off the field.

They are a far more attractive place to go to for young W.A players now who are thinking of going 'home'.

I'll be spewin if he goes..but if he decided to back to Perth I'd understand and get over it pretty quickly.
