I agree wholeheartedly. There is always an upside to everything. Change of club, change of rules, the Kid has Star written all over him...

I really believe Sydney and your supporters have zero to feel guilty about and any abuse you guys cop from our one eyeds is merely sour grapes superimposed onto a slight inferiority/victim complex. On the other hand, the arrogant gloating wind ups from some of you guys probably evens things out somewhat.
This deal was F`d when we decided to fork out so much for the under-skilled douche a few years ago. Never was he worth what we gave.
In my honest opinion,I cant see him fitting into your "sling-shot" game style however as he seems to anchor at least 2 defenders into the forward 50, which would mean a rethink of strategy on your behalf.
Tippet should have been trained as a CHB. Would be the best in the league by now, instead of the half glass he is today.
Been saying for years(or ever since Tex arrived)that we need to get him out of the forward ark.
His absence from our forward 50, and the resulting adjustment to our structural game plan is exactly the next step we need to take to get into the GF this year. Was far too predictable and too top heavy for my liking, ever since the arival of Walker. Case in point is the mauling your defense served up to us in the final.Open up that 50 arc for Tex to run wild leads ,as is his natural instinct and I think we will evolve this coming season.

Anyway, all the best with him. Congrats on your outstanding GF victory!
Im sure 90% of South Australians where rootin` for ya`ll way back when. (Ah those where the days, before football lost its innocence :)

Cheers

Keep telling yourself that my friend, Armstrong helped get us to a flag and Johnston still cant get a kick. :)

Note my post said history will judge it a win. I have watched Lewis this year and of course seen a lot of tony. I'm very confident on that one. its taken Lewis a while for the penny to drop and he needed a solid year in the SANFL. he was a leading goal kicker for the season and notably kicked 5 in a stellar semi final. still only 21 and ready for the next step.

tony is solid but arrived in Sydney at his ceiling. I like him, he is very neat and an excellent user. no doubt he will play more games for you. imo will never stamp himself as an automatic selection especially with you young talent coming through.

My biggest concern about Tippett is in not too sure he is mentally strong enough to handle the position he has out himself in. He is probably on around 800k a year. For him to get a pass mark he needs to kick an absolute bare minimum of 50 goals . He has awesome talent but he needs to e consistent next year or hel face some scrutiny like he never has before

Sydney have no call to feel bad or uneasy. A purchaser has only a duty to himself and the duty need not extend past paying only a price that he can afford to pay. Sydney did just that.

On the other hand a vendor should do all in his power to get the best possible price. Adelaide failed because it had no strategy other than to ask Sydney to pay more than it needed to, this was doomed to fail of course.

On a positive note for Adelaide I believe history will say that we won the johnston trade comfortably and so things rest close to even.

I've got to say kudos to crows supporters for their perspective on this. Things have been pretty tense between swans and crows posters over the last 2 weeks so I'm glad to read positive posts like these. We've always had a healthy respect on BF so it would be a shame for that to cease over this.

Were you mentally strong enough to pick the Bloods during the finals?

What if Tippett plays every game in 2013 and kicks, say, 30 goals and we win another premiership? Would you still qualify that as a failure?

I think he's capable of kicking a big number of goals but let's leave setting targets to the coaches, shall we?

A strong was only the half of it.

The deal was Armstrong and a pick (about 36 I think ) for Johnston.

We used the pick on Tommy Walsh. I'll take Armstrong and Walsh over Johnston.

If White goes to Adelaide that will help any salary cap issues. Jesse would probally be on 250-300k a year hopefully we upgrade Harry Cunningham.

You could see him playing the LRT sort of role, even though noone else really can BE LRT, but a more dangerous forward. The fact that he would be taking the main defender would lead to a number of more goals for the likes of goodes and Reid.

And if we win the premiership then i will love whoever was in our team for the whole year and they would all be a steal.

For 800 k a year he has to bring something we didn't have last year. He needs to kick the sitters that he often misses and
Play 4 quarter games . If he kicks 30 but presses up the ground and frees up Reid them that's all well and good. One of either Reid will have to play deep whilst the other leads a lil further up the ground. If Tippett spends majority deep he has to kick 50

Not too sure what salary white was on , but if it was close to
300 k a year he woud be very happy with that
We signed him up for 3 years after a promising 2009 and we wanted to keep him from the Gold Coast so he would have been paid ok.

It won't worry you as you'll pick our opponents

Has he had the medical or is it just BF rumours

The Advertiser can reveal White, a key forward/ruckman, is travelling to Adelaide today for a medical and a meeting with Crows coach Brenton Sanderson, who returns home today after holidaying in the US.
Swans boss Andrew Ireland said the negotiations to bring Tippett to the Harbour City were progressing well.
"We think it's getting closer and hope there is some news by the end of the week," Ireland said.
