Yeah, build and movement wise, I think they are very similar. Gilbo can also kick it extremely well when he times his kicks well (low bullets that barely get above head height and get to their targets in a real hurry and can kick it very long) but it is a high risk/high reward type of kick, IMO and when he misses it, well, we all know how that goes.

A lot of kids are just naturally skinny though, and it would be nice if we drafted players that aren't long term projects

I think the Saints are certainties to take Tim O'Brien, providing he doesn't go to the Pies or Adelaide. Best Key Forward available besides Jaksch in my opinion.

Aidan Corr is one your mob is apparently looking at as well. Very quick and tall KPD and Sheehan rates him above Tanner Smith. I get a feeling you'll go with Liam McBean though, because of his versatility.

Think you're also a big chance to get Spencer White at 41 or 44 as well. Bit of a project player but could have an excellent payoff

Of course, Roo and Kosi are retiring but we have Lee/Stanley/Wikes as our future forward line, with Staley developing off the rookie list and Markworth/Siposs have the ability to be a 3rd tall as well. We can't rely on a couple of unproven players becoming stars, recruiting another one just increases our odds.

There is no way i can see Riewoldt or Dal going anywhere. Riewoldt is already in contract talks and i'm sure Nicky Dal is aswell.

Just adding my descriptions from my Mock Draft

Any got a good idea of what sort of player Andrew Boston is? Any chance we could pick him up?

Queensland draft prospect Andrew Boston was passed up by Gold Coast and now looms as one of the more interesting players in the draft. Boston performed extremely well at the Under 18 Championships, earning All Australian honours and being named Queensland's Most Valuable Player. Andrew averaged 18.2 disposals at the Championships, at an effective 70%. Boston uses the ball well on both sides of his body, by hand and foot. He is a decent runner, his personal best 3km Time Trial is approximately 10:30, which would have put him in the Top 10 at the Combine. Boston also has clean hands and is a dedicated professional. If we do pick him up, it will be with 44.

He performed really well at the Under 18 Champs but I don't see us picking him up.

Anyone got more info on Mason Wood, haven't really read through the posts but i heard the dirty document (herald sun) said the saints were keen on him

Geelong Falcons forward Mason Wood has steadily improved throughout the season. Wood is a quick forward who attacks the ball or the man with ball in hand hard. He is a strong mark on the lead and inside 50, using his freakishly large hands to an advantage. Furthermore, the talented forward is courageous and a brilliant kick for goal on the run or on a set shot. Wood is agile and can often avoid would-be tacklers using his evasiveness. Mason also has great work ethic, better than average endurance and clean hands. He is a brilliant field kick, Wood has fantastic awareness of his surroundings and excellent vision. At his height, he is difficult to match up on due to his speed and strength. Wood averaged approximately 6 marks in the TAC Cup. Mason Wood also performed well at the Combine, finished equal 4th in the goal-kicking test, 8th in the agility test and 3rd in the hand span measurement

Knightmare has actually been a wrap for Wood for a while I think and had him at 35 in his "power rankings" (where he personally ranks them and would draft them at himself, as opposed to where he thinks they'll go on the day), before the article on Wood the other day. (You may also have noticed that since Brian had a go at him for undervaluing Lee and Hickey, Lee has been quietly wandering up his power rankings over the last couple of weeks. He had him rated higher than all of Jacksch, Shaw, Membrey, O'Brien and White a couple of days ago!)

I want a KPF because i just don't see that big and strong stay at home FF anywhere on our list.

Wilkes - More your bit part player on the side capable of making a dent in the opposition if they don't pay him enough respect. Don't see him as the cornerstone FF of our next premiership team.
Hickey - Capable of playing either end with his sticky mitts when not rucking, I'd preferably like to see him play the role Ben does when he's resting. Not a permanent forward option.
Stanley - Better suited to burning off opposition with athleticism by roaming around CHF/Wing and doubling back into the 50 with the afterburners. Not the strong pillar, nor the traits you'd want to keep boxed in the goal square. Also, will his body allow him to string together games? Im not confident.
Lee - Another I want using his athleticism, am i wrong in thinking he'll be more of a CHF? Sure he may be a more than capable FF, but with someone as versatile as him you wouldn't want him to be the only FF option.
Lever - Jury's still very much out. Didn't SW earmark him for CHB anyway?
Staley - Same. Even longer odds.
Siposs - I think we'll see him evolve to be spending most of his time away from the forward line, especially with Markworth coming on and BJ gone.

If Shaw is there, Id absolutely want us to take him, absolutely no question. Having a surplus of KP's (not that i think we will this year) is never a bad thing. Shaw won't be AFL ready for a good 2-3 years anyway. So in the mean time it allows us to keep carrying the 3 ruck set up (Rhys/Ben/Hickey to replace Kosi) during development. And should Shaw be banging the door down, then we'll confront that champagne problem when the time comes.

With guys like Tim O'Brien, Mason Wood etc, im a little skeptical about taking because i'm unsure whether they're the contested marking FF types we're crying out for to complete our forward line. But hey talent is talent.
