You were looking the bomb this time last year too. But then it all fell to s**t, probably drug side-effects and what not.
You guys were flag fav's this time last year too, then hit Essendon and fell to shite. Probably the reality of just being shite!

Now that we're cleansed, there really isn't anything that can turn it around, especially with Vlad in our corner. :)

Looking forward to the wailing and carry on that's going to happen when the bans and sanctions come rolling in.
And they will. Make no mistake.

Delicious ;)

Then later in the season, with the season on the line, the Bombers ran into Carlton, & bombed by 16 goals, ultimately finishing below Carlton on the ladder, proving to be more shite than Carlton.

That AOD must be expensive stuff.

According to the HS Dank's bills for the first 2 months of the season last year was over $20,000. For just six players! One a week and that's getting near 500 bucks and injection!

Interesting that it mentions that Dank was sourcing CJC-1295 and GHRP6. Were these to be used on Essendon players?

Essendon must come clean and explain who these banned drugs were for.

This is what the ACC appendix says about both of these.

GHRP-2 and GHRP-6

GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are growth hormone-releasing factors and are therefore prohibited S2 Hormones and Related Substances according to the WADA Prohibited List. They are part of the growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) family, which includes GHRP-1, GHRP-2, GHRP-4, GHRP-6, alexamorelin, ipamorelin and hexarelin. GHRPs are used to stimulate the release of Growth Hormone (GH) by the pituitary gland. They also promote food intake by stimulating hunger and aid in energy metabolism.
Purported benefits of using GHRPs include bone mineral density, increased lean muscle mass, improved strength, rejuvenation and strengthening of joints and improved recovery from injury such as bone fractures. Side effects from the use of GHRP may include hot flushes, loud stomach rumbling, white blood cell count increase, sweating and increased appetite.
GHRP-2 and 6 are administered by subcutaneous injection. GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 are detectable in urine.
CJC-1295

CJC-1295 is considered a growth hormone-releasing factor and is therefore considered to be prohibited according to the WADA Prohibited List in the S2 category (Peptide hormones, growth factors and related substances). CJC-1295 is a synthetic peptide hormone, similar in structure to GHRH, which stimulates the release of growth hormone, and subsequently IGF-1, from the pituitary gland. CJC-1295 was initially developed to treat those suffering from growth disorders, muscle wasting diseases or burns victims. However, CJC-1295 is not approved for human use.
CJC-1295’s purported anabolic effects may increase lean muscle mass, reduce fat and improve performance. In addition, CJC-1295 has anti-inflammatory properties if administered directly to the related area soon after injury, can reduce pain and swelling and also assist in the repair of injured tissue. It is also purported to promote slow wave sleep (SWS) which is responsible for the highest level of muscle growth and memory retention. Further benefits include reduced body fat, increased energy and vitality, increased endurance, accelerated healing, and strengthening of the heart.
CJC-1295 is administered by subcutaneous injection, usually in the abdomen. It is also available as a cream.

I think that Jenny is spot on with with her guess. A month ago ASADA had a secret agreement with the AFL and Essendon to let all their players (not the club) of scott free until a ASADA lawyer (seemingly the only lawyer to have a conscience) got wind of it and couldn’t stand the hypocrisy of it and leaked it publicly.

Why would ASADA do a secret agreement with them? Well because not all the details had come to light then and if they remained hidden from the public they could have brushed the relatively few findings as yet off as ‘inconclusive evidence, heresay, oh it wasn’t that bad etc’ and then ASADA wouldn’t appear like as such the incompetent fools that they are for letting such a large and systematic doping scandal to operate undetected in Australia’s largest and most professional sport. However Dank has since specifically listed what was used (AOD among other things) and they immediately knew that sooner or later that the S0 rule and AOD’s illegal ban use would be revealed and splashed across the headlines, and questioned asked as to why ASADA hadn’t acted?

Now that the WADA has been forced to state AOD’s legality, and the fact that it only affected 6 players I bet ASADA has jumped onto this and done a deal with Essendon to give them up in return for not seriously investigating or taking further action against Danks complete list of concoctions that could potentially see the entire list of players banned. This allows the ASADA to look a little less incompetent and allow further non publicly known investigated findings be blown under the carpet of time and forgotten about amid the AOD hysteria, but also more importantly to have a guaranteed win (as opposed to not getting a conviction and player banned would make a mockery of their organisation and see them shut down and replaced) and would be seen in the public’s eye as dealt with somewhat promptly and succinctly (effectively) and avoid years of court cases and just importantly, millions of dollars in legal costs.

Also why else would Essendon be so forthcoming with an actual admission of guilt to a now proven banned substance when all they’ve done in the lead up to this point is lie and mislead as to any wrongdoing? There is no potentially softening the blow for these 6 players, the rules are explicit and unrelenting on a 2 year ban regardless of any extenuating circumstances. And of course they’d rather give up 6 players in the side as opposed to all 45, which would then also allow them to actually compete for the next two years and by having only 6 players found guilty rather than 45, they’d be hoping then for less public pressure be placed upon the ASADA/AFL’s punishments and to not deserve a severe and death knell blow to the club from which it may never recover.

I also actually reckon that Vlad would be the one pushing for this as an absolute best case scenario, not only would Essendon one of the AFL’s cash cow clubs to survive and not be sued for millions by ‘all’ its players. But also by keeping the club alive and still playing in the next two years would also allow the AFL to honour its TV and stadium contracts that are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Further investigation and constant media attention thanks to court cases and law suits that could drag out for years and turning off a generation of parents in allowing their kids to play/support AFL, along with Essendon supporters having two years of enforced non-activity could completely forever lose future interest/support, has now seen the AFL take a sudden u-turn to their previous approach in showing nothing but unyielding support to clubs and allowing them to handle their own matters in house only to be forgotten about over time. Where as an entirely out of the blue and sudden admission to one instance of drug use amid the entirety of Essendon’s ‘supplement’ program and instead offering a handful of scapegoats would appease ASADA to achieve their aims, along with showing the public that action (even if virtually none) is being taken.

If this is the way it goes, the big question is will the 6 keep their mouths shut. Will they be paid off.

Sure they do, thats what an asada investigation is for. Doesn't mean they were for Essendon.

If you think EFC are the only club using these supplements you are kidding yourself. If Charter is to be believed, 30 players from 6 clubs, and they are just the ones he is supplying.

Therefore why would they worry about getting supplements from EFC which they already get themselves?

I'm sure most players are on suppliements as a matter of fact I'm tipping all of them. Heck I hate medicines and non natural chemical based garbage and I was still technically on supplements when I had the time to go to the gym. There are various levels for supplements.

Have I missed something,,,what has Dr Reid got to do with the missing ASADA letter? Or is there anther letter that's gone missing that I have missed over the last few days?

Allegedly he was shown the letter. For some amazing reason he didn't keep a copy of it.

Oh dear...i missed that. There are porkies being told left, right and centre...from both sides. Dank and Charter help athletes cheat. Did Essendon know that was the case when they took Dank on? I believe at a minimum Hird knew given his past association with Charter. Hird knew Charter was a PED specialist from years back. And Charter per chance happened to witness what Hird told Dank at the start of it all.

This whole thing reaks! This entire mess is completely farked!!

FWIW I don't think they can do it like that

As I mentioned yesterday, I don't think they can fudge it anyway. EFC still thought AOD was good when they gave ASADA their supplement logs back in February. Just 1-2 weeks ago EFC lawyers were thinking AOD would be defendable. This tells me its very likely the players who received AOD are listed on the logs, so there will be little guesswork about who's effected.

So why has it taken nearly 3 motnhs for AOD to be declared a banned substance. If 1-2 weeks a go all was thought to be a ok why the change now? Something doesn't seem right here.

Yep no one who is made a scape goat and left without a musical chair is going to be happy at all. 1 or another will be pointing out the inconsistencies.

Yep, Essendon doctor just reads a letter but didn't go and verify it with any other source. I mean the guy peddling the stuff flashes a letter in front of you, doesn't give you a copy and hey presto everything is legit and the club and players are absolved of all responsibility or culpability.o_O

If thats Essendons defense bad luck boys, 2 year ban for each player, no finals for you this year and you lose all your draft picks plus $1,000,000 fine. Anything less than that would be a joke.

Oh and Demetriou can go as well.:thumbsu:

Myers suffered a hamstring injury vs. Port, Dempsey suffered a hamstring injury vs. GC, Hibberd suffered a hamstring injury vs. Collingwood, Hurley suffered a hamstring injury vs. Carlton, Crameri suffered a hamstring strain vs. Carlton, Browne was on the sidelines with hamstring complaints that had been occurring since the pre-season. All this happened within the space of a month.

Well s**t like that happens when when you pump your body full of something that hasn't been approved for human use doesn't it.

Just a guess, but I don't reckon asada or games mainly played in Australia would get must of a priority in Switzerland or where ever WADA is based

Matey, you find a little life raft (which gets smaller by the day) and you cling to it. You see the words "loophole and Essendon" and you think beauty, my team could escape any penalty.

It would be an absolute farce if your team escaped penalty for this debacle. Absolute farce. Your coach and his team have decided to sail close to the edge, and unfortunately - either wittingly or unwittingly fell over it. The safety of your players has been compromised all in the name of a ******* silver cup that you haven't even won. It's time to look at this for what it is. Stop making excuses for your team. All of you need to man up and accept responsibility for this abysmal state of affairs.

Jenny

You should have followed my advice!
