In terms of challenges, I discovered healing teammates is incredibly easy. I needed 15 in 3 games, and I ended up with 58 without even going out of my way to do it. I think it goes by each little block of health that they recover, so if someone is nearly dead, you would get like 5 just for healing one person.

I did the marking targets one, I needed 21 and up with 15 in the first game.

Yeah, marking is the one I found easiest until I discovered the healing teammates. Both much easier than downs and executions.

And revives, for pantskyle

The early gifting ones are easy as well. The latter ones were actually pretty hard to reach totals because I was only on crafter 2.

As far as challenges where you stand to lose population (the most important), healing is definitely the way to go. I'm pretty sure in one of the 3 day challenges I got over 120+ healing points.

Ok so, 58% completed the single player campaign and wow, fantastic game. But wow, ridiculously overrated. Seems very linear and one dimensional to me. Story is riveting, characters are likeable, game is very polished but I get the sense there's no reason to play it more than once... and that's disappointing.

Fire away. *hides*

Considering where you are, you've really just hit where the game takes the story up a notch.

The gameplay is fantastic and I've only just started returning to other games and finding it difficult to adjust back. In a lot of ways this is a game changer, mostly story wise. But I think the scores it has been getting are completely justified.

To be fair I was nowhere near this opinion at the 58% mark of the game. It really is on the end journey I realised how much I was loving it.

Also the multiplayer is fantastic when in a team.

Linear and one dimensional?! The game isn't open world (and why do so many people treat linearity as a bad thing anyway?), but I just completed a section of the game in my 2nd playthrough that was the complete opposite to how I went through it first time around and it wasn't by choice either.

I really don't see how it's one dimensional when there's numerous situations where you can either stealth your way through or shoot/melee your way through. That by definition, is not one dimensional in and of itself.

Playing it through on Survivor difficulty is also extremely hard, but very rewarding too. I'm going to go for a 3rd playthrough on Survivor+ just to see how the dynamic changes with more weapons, upgrades, etc.

Which bit?
The sewers with Sam and the ultra-sensitive infected down there.

First time around I went through 100% stealthy, didn't take anyone down.

This time went loud as it was going to take too much effort to take them all down quietly without being seen.

Both were very tough to do, especially when I had little ammo to take on the 2 clickers that come after you.

Is that the bit where you climb out above the door?
No, I don't believe it's a door. You go up a ladder to get out of the area.

The section is where you and Sam are away from Ellie and Henry, after you accidentally trip up a trap and a big blast door comes down between you/Sam and Ellie/Henry. You have to go through this maze of a bunch of infected that have super sensitive hearing and vision so you have to be extremely quiet and move an inch at a time.

LOL, I just had a look at my stats for my original playthrough compared to just now.

Hard Difficulty - 100% - 17 hours played
Damage Taken: 7188

Survivor Difficulty - 61% - 10 hours played
Damage Taken: 16674

So yeah, it's kinda harder.:p

I remember the door crashing, don't remember super sensitive infected.

I found the game play unsatisfying and repetitive, but it was by no means unplayable. The games only flaw Imo.

Was on earlier this afternoon and had a guy on the opposition team glitching/hacking. You couldn't damage him with bullets or bombs - the only thing that would hurt him were instant kill weapons (molotov, shiv, upgraded melee stick thing).

At the start of the game no one on my team had mics on. By halfway through everyone had their mic turned on raging.

At one point on 'highschool' he was in the classroom looking out the window. I came in from a door on the opposite side and began shooting him. After a few shots he turned around and ran the full length of the room and beat me to death (all whilst I was shooting him).

Yeah still not with ya, sorry. I am a fan of open world games, and I knew this wasn't one... but it just frustrates me when there is two directions to go in, and when one direction opens up I know that when I go the other way there will be a landslide or stairs missing preventing me from going further. The game I've played recently that's most like this (Tomb Raider) seemed to at least have more paths and feel a bit more freeing. I also felt the weapon upgrade system in that worked better and you seemed to be able to do it more frequently. I am however quite addicted to trying to find as many supplies as I can and making the most use out of my bombs and shiv's etc etc, so I'm taking my time and exploring every corner.

As I said it's a great game it's just my expectations were so bloody high after all the reviews I read.

Yeah I figured 58% was enough to give me a reasonable idea but I'm readying myself for an epic finish.

Oh definitely not unplayable as I said the game is very polished. I just don't think it's very inspired.

I'm interested in your thoughts once you get to the end.

I think the game is great, so it always intrigues me when people don't dig it. I was really enjoying myself at that point, but I really didn't realise how special it was until the next few acts.

Just finished this game the other day and weirdly I still think about the characters, what their life is like after the story ended and wanting to play it all over again. There were moments specifically late in the game with the twists and turns in the plot that were very emotional which is something I've never experienced in other games. The combat system isnt the best and navigating through the menu system is awkward, however the character development and storyline is enthralling. One of the finest games I've played.
