Has the AFL Coaches Association come out and said anything at all? Seems two of their number (Hird & Thompson) are being railroaded by the Afl and they are silent on the matter. Interesting that everyone else has their say.

Eddie McGuire asked the same question to Danny Frawley on Fox Footy last Sunday. Danny basically said we worry about supprt after the event.

I was actually shocked listening to McGuire this morning, and I'll paraphrase here, but it went something like this.

"To you Essendon fans out there how feel that it's the AFL against you, you forgot, Essendon cheated"

He bold faced, said that Essendon cheated. Not governance. No, cheated.

Told ya Yoda_

Any truth to this? or is the guy a troll

Good to know that the Essendon Players mum is legit and wasn't some hoax like some simpletons implied. At least the player is known now.

So what's this proof that it's true or should everybody just believe someone because they said it on Twitter

Really? Eddie said Essendon cheated? There wasn't sarcasm involved or some satirical bit about how the media are addressing Essendon fans?

Happened around 7:45 ish- was driving to work. He was riffing with Darcy about how Essendon supporters feel they are being hard done by. Was very off the cuff.

It was right before Mick chimed in with "Duh, what I don't get is, um, if why the AFL would be out to get the Bombers- They have nothing to gain" - Which, I might add, is an argument that is fair in a vacumn- but ignores the narrative of the thing. The AFL, over a long period, have buttered up the public with the expectation that doping has occured, and the penalty which would come from that.

But the doping charge never happened, and the public want blood. The AFL have to "get" Essendon now, cause they've whipped the public into a frenzy.

Ok sounds like we need more context.

Paige Cardona has less credibility than David Schwarz and Mark Allen. And that's saying something.

But still more credibility than anyone who earns a wage from the EFC including a highly respected doctor that was hired for his independent assessment of the supplements. He has no motive to make false claims because he has a reputation/licence to lose.

Edit: according to the foamers

Couple of things about general comments made by several media people in the last week that made me lol.

1: The public turned on Hird after call from the mother, LMAO

2: The legal bills will cripple essendon if they fight it, this is a opinion but Im very confident more supporters will get behind the club with membership and donations, if the club fights these charges especially the stripping of points and suspension of Hird. Its too easy just change it to the "fight plan"

I am unsure how much EFC is paying on legal fees, seeing that one of the coteries is stacked with legal people.

Some perspective on the members flipping coin. A close family friend is die hard Essendon. Member for more years than can remember and very wealthy. 3 months ago he openly said he would tip in if the club needed support to fight charges. Last week he's changed his mind considerably. Not a snap decision either. He's now said he wont donate any coin and is slowly becoming disgruntled with the club and key figures. People are turning. It's not the media, that's a cop out as they simply report and get under the skin of die hards if they dont like what they hear.

The longer this drags out, the more views, opinions and most importantly, details come to light. It's not about standing together, it's about getting to the bottom of it and setting the club straight. Not how hard we can fight in court, not a show of strength or protecting club legends. If people have done wrong and it's conclusively proven then they have to go regardless of status.

There's no happy ending. But there can be a clean start.

It's exactly about both of these. They're not mutually exclusive. BTW, don't you think the "real truth" is more likely to come out in a court of law versus the AFL internal construct?

And as others have said, you don't turn on Club legends 3votes (or whatever your name is).

Hahahaha Bomber is great.

Seriously, if the government really want to improve labour productivity, they should step in and get this sorted ASAP, I haven't worked properly for days or probably even weeks because of this thread!!

What's work? I now get paid to read BF, I forgot what my core work is.

I mentioned this last night when someone asked about Eddie. (the guy says different things when sitting next to an Essendon person.

I would like to believe what Cerberus says, but mmm Im not sure.

It's not as though Demetriou's issues with sports science are well publicised or anything.

Perfectly said. I #standbyhird because he deserves my support and benefit of the doubt. If he started a systematic doping regime, drug dungeons or willfully put players at risk then he would lose my support.

One thing is for sure, if I was a friend or family member of those who are so willingly happy to turn, I wouldn't be counting on them for support through difficult times. Sure they are entitled to their opinion, but it's a pity it's an opinion formed without waiting for all sides of the story.

Useful? No.

Amusing? Well Patrick Smith tried to tell a caller it was not about taking sides. Right up there with his claim that no one believes Essendon set out to cheat.
how about hearing Patrick talk about Essendon's media "agenda". For srs. The mouthpiece of the AFL banging on about Essendon daring to have a media agenda. Incredible stuff

I dunno, I was driving. :D Surely I'm not the only one here who listened to MMM this morning. :D It's the #1 morning something something it likes to tell me. (And my stupid radio can't pick up SEN anymore cause the antennae borked)

yeah yeah, I know I know

Cerberus@tretestecane 8m
Offering an all expenses paid trip to study overseas for a year including paying for family to move as well is a desperate act.
Cerberus @tretestecane is nothing like cerebral @testicles, but for some reason it's what I think every time I read it. Brain at testicles.
