AFL trying to make it up to us for the disproportionate penalties they gave us in 2002 by gifting us a finals berth and a semi-final by letting us play Richmond. Thanks Vlad :thumbsu:

They'll be able to pick players after the second round like Carlton, Adelaide, Melbourne and erm, Essendon. ;)
They get to use whatever pick they have left for father son bids. Simon Madden's kid is up soon, so it may not be any penalty at all. It might be the equivalent of getting Joe Daniher with pick 70.

nah they have to match the pick another club offers, ie if we offer a second rounder for him they have to find a 2nd rounder to match our offer...which they wont have...haha i hope he is a gun

We were hit harder. We weren't allowed to trade our way back into picks, not that we had anything worth trading for.

WTF is taking away their 1st & 2nd round picks in 2014, but giving them a pick at the start of the 2nd round about? Again, we were hit harder. We were allowed to keep our priority pick - only in 2003 though - not 2002.

I've always said I'd know by how the AFL punished future clubs if we were punished too harshly. It seems we were.
