Looking at that pic of the Watermans, I reckon Alec should contact Guinness world records because he would have the worlds shortest shin bones.

Probably why he didn't end up at North Melbourne then

Would be interesting if we drafted him under F/S while his dad was still at Freo.

Yes. But he's only around 6'1+ at the moment.
his old man was only ever 190 so he isn't that far off with another year or so of growth ahead of him

wouldn't think he'd get to JKs height though

Question without notice.

As has been alluded to here, there could be a year where 3 sons become eligible for drafting. Obviously 3 draft picks will be used, but if they are all good players, can other clubs put pressure on by bidding on all 3 ?. eg. instead of using the 3 lower picks of ( 6, 26, 46, 66 ), they can be forced to use their first 3 picks.

Say there is 3 players and all are rated first round picks and all are bid on before your first pick. You would need to use your first 3 picks and you would get one in each of the first 3 rounds.

no guarantee he will opt to play for us though, being a victorian.

the club has burnt a lot of bridges with champion ex players in recent times.

Like who? Seems to me every year when they have the academy they all bring their kids along and seem to be enjoying it.

I feel that the system will have changed by then judging by the AFLs intention to bring in a ranking system.

IIRC in a situation where all three are bid on before our first pick we would have to pick one and the others would be fair game.

This is shit.

Kids should be able to play where their dads played.

Funny how the vics call us a franchise club yet every year they change the rules a little more to make every team a little more franchise club like

As if he's good enough to turn us down?

Will be interesting to see where he plays for Sadringham Dragons next year.
He played in the forward pocket in there finals this year.
Hopefully gets a run in the middle in 2015.
Would be nice if he could grow a little more as well.

WEST COAST
Jordan Matera (Sandringham Dragons)
Son of: Peter
Height: 182 cm
Weight: 80 kg
2014 Games: 1
Draft Eligible: 2015

The highly regarded Jordan Matera, son of West Coast star Peter Matera earned himself a début for the Dragons against the Calder Cannons in round four. His final stats read 10 disposals, four marks and one goal and he showed that he was quick, elusive and displayed a cool head under pressure. Expect Matera to play mostly school football this year, ahead of his top-age year in 2015.
