Word is that Varcoe left due to Balme and is now livid with Buckley for bringing him over.

Varcoe won't play for Bucks next year and will request a trade end of season, mark my words.sly.
Mmm, Varcoe or Balme, decisions, decisions. I would take Balme.

So how do you know this ? I just thought Varcoe came to us because of $$$$$ and a fresh start Balme doesn't seem like a person many would dislike.
Mate have facts first instead of making up innuendo over a couple of beers with a few mates.
Anyone can start a rumour its easy to start and that's all this is

If this is a serious post that isn't playing along, please go ahead and highlight what you quoted for me.

The original post you replied to is below ----v

Open it up fully and you'll see some white writing down the bottom.

A facetious post, obviously.

Welcome back Neil Balme! :)

I must say I'm a little surprised by this appointment but I'm happy that he's returned as he's an enthusiastic figure and he'll be very well-complemented alongside Buckley. His presence will definitely ease the burden that Buckley has on several fronts and I think Balme will be a good mentor for him even if he did go stale with us towards the end of his tenure back in 2006. I think a fresh start at Geelong did him the world of good and re-energised him.

I think his time at Geelong does re-emphasise the idea that he did have a big input into how the club functioned when he was down there and for that we should be very pleased by this appointment.

Great recruitment, has breathed success day in, day out for the last 7-8 years.

Will command great respect, something that Eade didn't in my view.

Eade had no Experience in that Role and was more a Coach then a Admin. Where Balme is more the Admin like Walsh was

Although on a personal note am not a huge fan of Leading Teams, I think that given Geelong seem to have taken it on board better than we have (it seems), I think Balmy may help in explaining it better and getting players to buy in more than Eade may have. When Eade was at the Bulldogs, it didn't seem to work that well (Akermanis). I see this as a major plus if the Pies are continuing with Leading Teams.
Balmy seems to be a good communicator and will act as a good buffer between the players and Bucks/Leading Teams.

Wasn’t they Badly Underperformed in 06. So what happened to change that much they did

I don't know if Cats were underpermformed in 06 but do know they finished 10th of 16. Very similar to our 11th from 18 this year. 8 yrs ago Ablett was 22, Bartel 22, Corey 24, Chapman 25, Selwood 18, Enright 25, milburn 29, Johnson 23, Scarlett 27, Ling 25

which I hope from our current list translates something like:
Elliott 22, Fasolo 22, Sidebottom 23, Greenwood 25, Scharenberg 19, Reid 25, Cloke 27, Seedsman 22, Pendlebury 27, Keeffe 24

No I'm not saying our guys are same type of player as Cats' player of respective order or that each is the same calibre, just tried naming some guys with talent of similar ages. I don't think we could translate to a premiership next year but it would be awesome if Balme could play a significant part in bringing one soon. With named players plus likes of Adams, Broomhead, Freeman, Kennedy, Langdon, Marsh, Oxley, Williams, Witts, Grundy, Moore & pick 5 I think we can be in the mix for 2016.

What, when Ablett, Bartel, Corey, Chapman, Selwood, Enright, milburn, Johnson, Scarlett, Ling...............were all in their primes.

Balme will be great to have around the club but he's no silver bullet.

People need to assess our list and development for what it is. We need to stop pretending there is only one missing link from a return to premiership success.

We have a long road to travel.

Here I was thinking the post was so outrageous that people would pick up on the fact that I was being facetious, guess not.

Heck, I even wrote it in white in the post.

FYI there are so many claiming to have inside knowledge that it is difficult to distinguish if you aren't familiar with the particular poster. I for one didn't see your white writing (on white background) until 76woodenspooners kindly pointed it out.

Perhaps you should have used one of these....:drunk:

He didn't like leading teams because he marched to his own beat. Great player, yet booted from 2 clubs.
Not a team kinda guy. Hence can't really use him as an example against leading teams.
Aker would have difficulty fitting into any kind on team environment.
Mathews allowed him space because he was bloody good (similar how MM would operate), however eventually enough is enough & he had to go (was past his best anyway).
