The players don't have to say anything, and they aren't guilty until proven so. If ASADA can't prove that tb4 was inside the syringes, then the players are innocent, regardless if whether they answered the questions or not.ASADA: "what do you remember about the injections you had in 2012"?
PLAYER: "no comment"
that doesnt look guilty?
But in this context it doesn't matter, as Justice Middleton and other judges have pointed out, the players signed away their right against self-incrimination when they signed their AFL contracts. Even though it's shoddy and unfair, it is what it is.
