Crameri and Prismall sought new legal representation in early October.

Sam McLure raised the rumour that a couple of players were inquiring about a deal a few weeks a go.

It's not outside the realms of possibility that a player has seen the writing on the wall and thought that simply telling ASADA that "I believe I may have been injected with TB4" and named other player who also may have been could help get quite a lenient suspension.

If we are going to limit discussion to things 'not outside the realms of possibility' we won't be discounting much. Perhaps aliens?

It's his career in the end.

Players only have a limited career and when that comes to an end, they often leave unskilled and stuffed for work least they had a very successful career.

After all, this is a job for these people and as such, the other players for the most part are merely co-workers.

Whilst I'm not disagreeing with this, I still think it's a pretty (very) ordinary thing for someone to do if the other person had no idea it was happening.

Which would make scenario 2 of my little laughfest correct; and the player amongst the most mind-bogglingly stupid fools ever to set foot on the Earth.

Darwin-esque.

Of course not- but it does effect ASADA as an organisation and their ability to keep sports clean moving forwards.

Any athlete, dealing with ASADA, would now be recommended to say "No Comment".

It wouldn't effect the appearance of guilt, as we already see- you're already guilty, you just need to provide the rope.

You'll see athletes doing what we should have done 2 years ago. Circling the wagons and shutting up shop

All playing along seems to have gotten us is to provide "evidence" *cough*thymosin sounds familiar*cough* and to get us eliminated from the 2012 season- which would have happened had we circled wagons anyway.
I think ASADAs biggest mistake was agreeing to investigate with the AFLs assistance

What I find interesting is there was a whiff of deals a few weeks back with Crameri and Prismall and it was all over the news yet some are now suggesting they may have change their tune and nothing anywhere...

Who has suggested that they've changed their tune?

ASADA have done what theyre supposed to do, investigate, and take information from player testimonies to determine if a there is a possible case of doping. Now we have to trust that the tribunal members will make the correct decision
Are they also supposed to twist their own witnesses testimonies and try to get them to sign off on it? Offer their witness employment? How about talk to the media about how the players should take a deal?

Hope Caro, Smith et al are watching the Press Council address today...

I don't disagree that it isn't impossible, but I believe that Sam McClure rumor was shot down iirc. Was that the one where the AFL was dealing, offering 2 week deals (ASADA not involved) but they rejected them?

I could understand if it was earlier in the piece but ratting out your team mates after sticking by with them for 2 years is a dogs act. you would think if they go down they would have agreed to go down together.

It's pointless speculating on pure speculation mate.

my point is a lawyer's opinion on their client's prospects is hardly worth hearing let alone believing

Same could be said about some thing posted by someone who is anonymous on a footy forum on the internet....

Dont want this to be a measuring contest, but currently we have half of this board believing something from one rumor and other citing other rumors to discredit that rumor.

Does this strike anyone else as just a bit absurd?
