I genuinely believe he hasn't a hope in hell.

I'm with you, I'd be very surprised if he was a regular by the years end - though I still think he has a future.

The thinking behind it was that we were getting jack viney as an inside mid, so we need to get an outside mid to complement. Who in the f drafts a kid who has had hip surgery?

Similar reasons led to Hawthorn and St.Kilda not drafting Judd and 6 clubs overlooking Selwood.

Not a good reason.

Yeah yeah give the bloke a break, at least see what he does this year. Yeah hes got reasonable disposal at times...something we need badly. But at the elite level of any sport, you should have more than one attribute..yes?

Judd and selwood delivered the goods in their first seasons
They never had hip surgery
Before we create a stink here, i just want to explain my policy.
Blame neeld for everything...it helps me sleep better, and the future looks that much better

I think it's valid to question us picking Toump.

But Judd had a degenerative shoulder and Selwood the same with his knee - injury isn't the reason we should have gone with a different player it seems.

**** Essendon.
Not sure want to think. Some people say it might be better not to risk players before the season proper. But then again we will miss out on a last warm up before round 1, so i think i'll go with angry at Essendon.

Let's hope it's not a future at drive through window at Hungry Jacks...

I don't know, I would get a bit of a kick out of hearing "I'm Jimmy Toumpas formerly of the Melbourne Demons and here's your Whopper and fries". Not a great result for the club but silver linings and all.

I was looking forward to going to Etihad.

Nev and Kennedy-Harris in the indigenous all stars side to play against the west coast

I like the concept of the indigenous all stars, but I really don't like the concept of any Melbourne players taking part.

I don't mind it , footys not the sport it used to be, the only risk is really a soft tissue injury which is just as likely to happen in training

I always get a good chuckle when someone throws this little gem out there.

Footy is as tough as it's ever been but there are just more repercussions for thuggery that didn't exist in years gone by and people for some reason pass it off as "footy is soft now".

There's an article on Tom ****head Scully on the AFL website for anyone who's looking for a good lol.
Been depressed since finding out the story about Gawny going the drunken chunder on him was just a myth. :(

Didn't say it was soft, but there's less high impact so less shoulder injuries , less driving tackles into the ground , less people being KO'D,

Impact injuries on field are way down compared to what they were , like I said , soft tissues is the main concern and that could happen anywhere

Got numbers to back up that claim?
