Be a dangerous move. No one wants to end up under oath in court. Marion Jones went to jail for perjury in the Balaco investigations.Surely Hird and the bombers can sue the AFL now to recoup costs.

It's not about AOD, it's been off the table for a long time.So the AFL is not satisfied that the players were administered with AOD. So Jobe Watson confessing to it on national television wasn't enough?

I don't think it's a fix, I think it's just utter incompetence.

nice workGot that right. Been playing a bit lately, almost broke 40 for the first time the other week over 9 holes, but then hit a double bogey on the last hole![]()

Alot easier to rub out 2 players from one team then to rub out 30.
That's all.
When it goes to the Court of Arbitration for Sport they will have increased powers to subpoena themThey'd be dumb to do so in my view as that would then allow defence (now AFL/ASADA) to subpoena Dank, Charters and Alavi. Tribunal didn't have these powers.
You shred the evidence or the dog ate it is clearly world's best practice.
The lesson here is that Demetriou was stupid to try and help Hird who threw him under the bus. Should have let ASADA swarm on the club. Live and learn.
The real winner is ChiefLosers out of this - AFL and all supporters
Winners - Hird and Essendon.
Didn't Watson admit to taking a banned substance? I know it's not like being tested positiveDid they take PEDs? Yep. Did they test positive? No. It's not a "just" outcome but it is probably the right outcome for the players given the circumstances. Maladministration has been punished already, and that's all that could be proven they were guilty of.
Time to move on and enjoy the footy!
Haha, love it.You shred the evidence or the dog ate it is clearly world's best practice.

How predictable was this? Like most AFL decisions it was all about one thing - the AFL's bank balance. How could they possibly shoot themselves in the foot by banning most of the Essendon list.
How it proceeds from here depends on how much they've pissed off ASADA - and whether ASADA's incompetence impacts their ability to appeal.
