Has he lost some agility? In the last year he's seemed very wooden, or on train tracks, for want of a better description, when going for the ball. I have about zero % confidence of him recovering when he's knocked off the footy or it takes a funny bounce and he needs to change direction quickly.

Not writing him off yet as I'm a big fan but I'm a bit worried about him to be honest.

Yeesh! Yes he had a bad game, yes he has become fringe due to the quality around him, but give the guy a couple more games before talking trade please! His output last year was satisfactory and the only real knock on him was he was the least required out of the slow midfield batch. We no longer have a slow midfield so i don't see a problem if he can backup last years form.

Would it be at all possible to wait until at least round 12 before we stick a fork in Stants?
No, because that's not the Essendon way.

Stanton has no attributes that drop away with age. You all need to put some ice cubes in your panties. I'd murder somebody if we traded him for a second round pick. Deserves a premiership more than anybody on our list.

I agree with you 99%. But there may be some merit in the idea that he has become less agile. We will have to wait and see...

Bounced back like good players do. Have never been in his fan club but you can not deny he is a good player and talk of trading him is rubbish at this stage.
Would do more harm to the group than good. IMO will never be an A grade player but that is ok, you need the B grade players as well. One thing i noticed
today that stops him from being a super star is he gets himself out of position too often by hunting the ball rather than holding position. Often he is the bloke
who is watching the ball go over his head because he goes second in when he does not need to.
He is part of the fabric that holds the group together and the club needs him. Deserves to play out his days as a Bomber.
