I'd like to see the record keeping of all of the other clubs put under the same scrutiny, or the AFL for that matter. Really, after all this time, all they've got is that we didn't keep our records properly. That's what the greatest scandal in the history of everything has boiled down to. F*** me.

Yep this.

An analogy to use is to imagine a notebook.

Each page at the top might have a sticker saying that page is in use.

When you delete a page, you remove the sticker (but the content remains on the page).

When you go to write a new page, you start flicking through pages until you find one without a sticker and start writing.

That means you can have some pages that are used (with sticker), some that have no sticker and have the remaining contents completely there and some that have part new contents and part old contents as you haven't written a full page to it yet.

I recently had to recover a few files deleted in error & was very surprised at the amount of data still on my drives. & that was using some freeware program so I can only imagine what someone who knows what they are doing with decent software could achieve.

So I guess what Dank & McD are really suggesting is that the club engaged an IT pro to ensure all evidence of computer files were thoroughly removed while other club officials were busy with a paper shredder. Sounds legit.

Was a joke the moment they said 'Blackest Day in Australian Sport' has been nothing but a waste of tax payers money and tarnishing the reputations of Athletes and their club.

The more you use the computer and the fuller the drive increases the chances of it being overwritten.

There are too many variables to guess what happened in EFC situation.

No, they are not deleted, the pointers are, but they can/will likely be over-written at some stage if the computer is used and thus can be permanently removed.

And do you really think ASADA would be smart enough to get an IT expert in to retrieve lost info?

ASADA's IT expert something like this:

I like the french theme..
To go a step further, the document marking the end of Napoleon's leadership as Emperor of France was known as the "Treaty of Fontainebleau" and was signed at Fontainebleau.

Bouchot_-_Napoléon_signe_son_abdication_à_Fontainebleau_4_avril_1814.jpg

The trip to France, part of Hird's suspension package to coerce him into abdicating his role as supreme Emperor of Essendon, was to pay for some of his studies...in...Fontainebleau

This all happened quite strangely precisely 200 years ago and runs almost parallel to the events of the last two years. Napoleon was exiled for almost all of 1814 until he grew tired of being cut off from his wife and son. He returned in 1815 and approached the French troops unarmed and said that they could kill him if they wanted, but the troops rallied behind him and said "Long Live the Emperor!!" He returned to being emperor of France in March 1815

Throughout this period, the congress of Vienna declared Napoleon an outlaw and gathered troops from all over to bring him down....

And let's hope this is where the stories diverge because they did in June or July of that year... And also Napoleon was kind of a campaigner

Stephen Dank from the Alan Jones interview >

"James Hird provided me with two caveats, and they were that what was provided to the players would be legal and safe."
The start of a procedure from our side...but well considered and targeted???

Is anyone listening to sen with KB and Brian Waldren ?, Waldren saying that he was happy when we got run over by swans.... because it was good for football with what had gone on previously. Please... Waldron who will go down in history as the Storm ceo who lost them a premiership due to systematic salary cap rorting and has been in exile for the last 3 years. What a HYPOCRITE !!

In that case, I sincerely hope and trust he was watching closely (and finding himself getting similarly emotionally involved again) when the Bombers ran over the Hawks.

When ASADA say the records are insufficient etc. IS THAT IN REGARDS TO THEIR AGENDA...they want records that report bad use by EFC. It (The Narrative continues) is reading like that to me.

Just finished watching the Dank, Jones & Peter. BANG! Jones is on to it and won't stop.

Dank was very good. Restrained but clear.

This is the tip of the ice-berg and I can't wait. There will be plenty of individuals VERY WORRIED right now! This is going to explode. Underestimate Dank at your own expense. He repeatedly spoke about the 'collective' and not just himself. I'd bet on the 'we' 'collective'. We have still yet to have our say!

When we do it will be done comprehensively and not through a newspaper.

Just a guess.

The verdict will come in the next couple of days.

This talk of waiting on the dank verdict before deciding whether to appeal is ridiculous.

The tribunal was not comfortably satisfied;
- tb4 was sourced by charter
- tb4 was given to alavi
- alavi gave the tb4 to dank
- dank gave the players tb4

Hence. Dank can't be found guilty of supplying players with a banned substance.

Now the tribunal's verdict on the case against the players explained that they believed Dank probably did want to source tb4, but because of the above (that was no evidential basis it was actually acquired or supplied), this is as damning as the evidence against dank can really be.

If Dank is found guilty, it will likely be for the following sorts of charges;
- that he conspired to get a banned substance
- that he acted unethically/without the consent of the club's chief medical officer
- etc

Any appeal in the case of the players, based around any finding of guilt against Dank, would be a total waste of time.

They shouldn't appeal, since they have no useful evidence, but Mcdevitt is an idiot and I wouldn't rule out him appealling anyway. He knows that he's likely to lose his job. How he proceeds will likely delay or speed up said process.

Of course it is.

How does Jones find Dank's 'evidence' to be dishonest and lacking credibility if he never gave evidence to anyone?

One thing that needs to be remembered is that from a tactical perspective the players had no interest in arguing that there were records. To ensure a not guilty verdict no records is as good as good records (even better in some ways).

So ASADA may have been banging on about a lack of record keeping and, in reality, making the players' case for them.

It's kind of like an accused not taking the witness box. It's not necessarily the way you want to win, you want everyone to think you are innocent because you're a good bloke but there are risks associated with it and the most important thing is the not guilty verdict (not how you got there).

This is what's most frustrating. That ****ing Ziggy report was the worst thing this club has ever done. I'll never forgive Evans for it. How can a report on governance about record keeping et al not be prefaced with comparisons to other clubs across the league? Boggles my mind. Absolute stitch up.

Did communications specialists come in at 201?

Yes industry standards are definitely appropriate for a well governed governing body....

The best thing that Abbott being in power (never thought I woudl ever say that), is that he is an Alan Jones fan and Alan now has ASADA and the AFL in his crosshairs. So hopefully momentum is kept and the push for a inquiry is sustained.

You reckon there was no interference by the Liberal Government in ASADA's investigation ?

Have no doubt that the minor parties will call for a Senate enquiry, but doubt they will obtain support from the ALP or the Lib's.
