Jack does the simple things well ... pick 30-45

Top 50- In my eyes 30-50. He hasn't shown much this year, be it at TAC Cup or APS (school)

Oh, that low? So potentially a 3rd-4th Round pick, then?

If that's truly the case, and Carlton really want him, they could probably still get him without specific F/S bidding. I mean, is any other club really going to contest or bid hard for a kid rated at that level? The Blues could use their 3rd Round pick (which will probably be in the 37-40 range) straight out, and they'll be golden.

Has Bailey Rice being playing in these Champs for the Vic Metro ?

If so, how has he gone ?
Been playing for Vic Country (he's from Dandenong) , he got injured two weeks ago with a shoulder injury, he's expected back within the next fortnight.

8 disposals in rd 1, 5 in game 2

The problem Carlton have is there supporters wouldn't understand if they decided not to match a high offer for Silvagni. If blues have to give up pick 21 for him they will as it would be a PR disaster if he went to another club. Just like last year there was no chance of other clubs getting Darcy Moore. Can see a Hawthorn or Fremantle with a late first round pick making the blues jump earlier than they would wish.

Also have Sam Day former pick 2 in 2010 draft IIRC.

Keays was BOG for OLD this weekend.
Be intersting would GS bid on Ben Keays with the first pick? Would Brisbane match it with there first?

Not sure about BOG but if an AIS kid with his talent couldn't stand out in that pile of dog shite game he never will. One of THE worst games I have ever had to endue. And I have seen Bendigo and the Jets play alot over the years!:cry::cry:

Once Wallis ran out of puff and took the saddle of Keays back, Keays got amongst it.

Did I mention what a horrendous game it was. At one stage I swear both teams were kicking to the same end !!!!! Qld would get the ball to the wing then kick it all the way back to the backpocket, turn it over and concede a goal. Mindboggling to watch.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

That worked for the Dogs with Ayce Cordy.

We didn't take Warren McKenzie's son with Foster available.

Zaine Cordy's and Dylan Buckley's draft rankings might be a better comparison.

And it would be the stupidest first round pick they ever spent .
a) Silvagni will need 2 years development , so they won't see any return on their first rounder
b) Silvagni will just walk to Carlton after the initial 2 years for way less than the invested first rounder , again , a wasted first round pick

No club is going to nominate a player they don't rate. If Carlton actually said no and they were stuck selecting that player when they did not rate them, it would leave egg on their face.

Buckley is a prime example of how club rate players and place fair bids on players.

But would be restricted if does walk out

Hi Gents. What are peoples thoughts on Vic Country's Jarrod Berry? Not eligible until the 2016 draft. Looks a nice size & only going of stats has been finding the footy.

Played for dandy on Saturday and was just about their best player. The more I watch him, the more I like him.
Thought he was a bit 'meh' the first time, boring small HB who doesn't win much of the ball or create much drive out of defence... But he's more than that. He's not boring, just simple. Beats his man consistently, hard at the contest always, decent contested mark for his height. It's his disposal and decision making that I didn't pick up on in the first game that has really impressed me, it's brilliant.
Not creative/breathtaking in a Houli or Steve Johnston way, but just makes the right choice and hits his target, again and again and again. Simply doesn't waste one. At worst he kicks it 50m to a one on one and still gives full advantage towards his teammate allowing him a genuine attempt to mark it.
I know HBF/BP's are not sexy unless they dash out of defence a million miles an hour, but someone's gotta play that lock down role and I think he's going to play that role perfectly.

Whichever team he chooses

Seems like there is a bit of a rivalry between Victoria and SA, I overheard numerous recruiters/scouts this weekend thankful that the Vics won the carnival (well basically) as a few accused SA of being cheats last year and the yr before (tagging players, not playing by the rules as such)

Not sure if it's just sour grapes from the Vics after SA performed exceptionally well in the last 3 years (2 wins + this year) but interesting to note.

Personally not a fan of kids being tagged at junior level, it doesn't benefit either of the players...

Why would you tag in this competition? The whole idea of the competition is to showcase talent, the coaches of the teams should consider the showcasing of talent of both his side and the opposition side as priority. It really is what this is all about.

Defensive ability is a talent too. Players get drafted on the back of it.

im sure you'll give a thorough wrap at the end of the game but would be interested to know how Collins, Cole and Mathieson are playing.

Collins was quiet and had a moment or two where he lacked a bit of composure under pressure but he defended well and looked class. Cole wasn't oe of the better players on the ground but didn't make mistakes and when he got the ball looked like he had time. Mathieson was excellent, scrappy as **** but we know that - and that's how he wins the ball. Won the hard ball, converted it to a consolidated possession and kicked well. A nice game.

skip, who played on Schache?

Wasn't particularly watching for it as whoever it was was guaranteed to get smashed. I think it was Surman as Westhoff played forward for a half.

Darcy Parish is a gun

Correct. Exceptional game from Darcy.

How long would you expect Tucker to go for (if at all)?

He won't be suspended. I remember Tom Lamb hook punching Alex Neal-Bullen after giving away a free - enough force to knock Alex straight down. And Lamb played the next game. But don't get me wrong - Tucker is a massive flog. As is Jy Simpkin - bloke spent the whole day trying to provoke players off the ball and took the whole push and shove with your opponent thing way too far repeatedly. As did Tucker. I suspect it was an instruction to get stuck into them but they took it too far.

i watched Tucker closely today and didn't think he had much impact at all. Provided minimal run from HB and had about the same influence on the game. His clash with Tahana summed up his day, very poor act.

Yup, very un Tucker like. Accumulated without influence.

Weitering and Collins were very good today .Stopped a lot of SA forward entries. Walked past Weitering after the game, he is a massive man and ready to play AFL now. Read alot about him but seeing him live was a real thrill.

Yup. Weitering was good. One on one his positioning, core strength and power was excellent. His footskills were lovely too. Wasn't dominant but was great. His game last year v SA @ AAMI was better though.

Francis yet to actually show he's a mid. Spent 1/3 to 1/2 of the game today in the centre and didn't seem to have a natural read of the tap at all. He's a work in progress but for now, he's speculative.

Gun. Good size, good composure, good awareness, nice boot, solid thinker and nice mover. Will be a first rounder I suspect.

Patently false. SA always have their five in their half and haven't played a tag this year or last. Sticks always seems to encourage two way running and rewards it in his selections but that's not tagging. You can't expect a bloke to spend his whole came freewheeling and kick chasing Jackson Macrae style and expect that to be a realistic example of their football game. SA have always had blokes look after an opponent but no tagging.

Wasn't it Billy Hartung who rose up the ranks after blanketing James Aish two years ago, anyway?
