Yeah you are right, the point i was trying to make was no matter how
good our season is perceived (and it was great) there will always be
someone who says take you away from Etihad and your not a top
eight side.

That's like saying to the Eagles, take away Subiaco and you're ****.

He averaged like 92 in Dreamteam and 103 in Supercoach

******* idiots these people who get paid to right silly shit.

Apart from a slump between rounds 6-14 where he carried an injury, he was dominant between rounds 1-5 and round 15 onwards. 70% of his games were good to outstanding with 30% in the poor to meh category.

Eagles have been excellent away from there though, though they have had an easier draw on the road compared to at home (avoided Hawthorn, Sydney etc, played Port at the right time).

Reckon he will win a brownlow one day and everyone be like "serious? he had a crap yet" *then proceed to check stats "ooo"
People will take notice of him once he improves his forward half output imo.

Especially after he has been getting tagged this year and he didn't have Griffin, Libba and Cooney taking all the heat this year. It's been a massive development year for him both on and off the field with his expanding media profile. Just an impressive young man and leader.

People get paid to write blatantly incorrect statements like that?
Just because he didn't kick a GOTY contender all of a sudden he hasn't lived up to his first year? WTF?

This is such bullshit. The AFL Player Ratings have Bont as literally the most improved player in the league this year. In other words, the gap between 2014 and 2015 was, for Bont, more significant than it was for any other player in the competition. To suggest that he "didn't quite surpass his debut season heroics" is incredibly lazy and totally inaccurate.

Maybe it's because last year, he was almost as good as Lewie Taylor, but this year, Lewie has gone to another level and left the Bont in his shadow :p

People shouldn't disparage Taylor in such a fashion, its unbecoming. He isn't the player The Bont is but he's quality, if he ever does the Lion thing of wanting to get the hell away from the hyper macho intimidation of Rocky and Hanley, I'd love him to be a Bulldog.

Yeah, nah.

Lewis Taylor ‘runs around in circles’ and doesn’t hurt the opposition, says AFL analyst

"Champion Data numbers show Taylor, 20, gains just 20m per kick — the lowest among the AFL’s top 100 ball winners. That means his average kick barely travels the minimum distance for a mark. He kicks short 78 per cent of the time — ranked No. 2 in the league’s top 100 kickers — and 76 per cent of Taylor’s possessions are won uncontested."

Our Wash Up is up.

Pretty fair, Barrett even sees us doing better next year. He's thoroughly on our bandwagon now.

There's a weird edit in the middle when Garry is talking about Minson in the "Chopping Block" section. Ends up missing Barrett's contribution in this section - what could he have said?

Probably Cordy or one of our delistees and that's already happened so they probably have edited it out.

probably the obvious again
How Jarrad Grant was a high draft pick & hasn't done enough compared to the other players taken around where he was

That is what he usually says anyway,
I was waiting for it

Truth is we were beaten by the better, more experienced side when it mattered. The same thing would've happened at Etihad.
We have to realise this and get over it.
How do you know the same thing would have happened at Etihad? C'mon, nobody knows that. I think it could have made a difference. Whether it was for the best in the long term is a different matter.
As for them being better, I think generally whoever gets across the line in the end is the better team, taking into account bad kicking etc. But with us winning all the stats, it's not *clear cut* to me that they were the better side.

I said they were better when it mattered. We could barely get a forward 50 entry once they hit the front in the last.
The ground doesn't change that. The ground doesn't change our awful kicking, the ground also doesn't change their experience advantage.
It's done, let's not be bitter arseholes whinging about what ifs, we aren't Richmond.

Oh I missed that bit. I'm not whinging anyway :p

Jesus I hate that article. It's really lucky that same analyst has never seen Steele Sidebottom play.

bahaha, did you see the lemons Gary was sucking when asked if Stringer could get better, and he was forced to admit he could go through the midfield? All he was thinking was 'Toumpas at 4, Stringer at 5 - its Fiora before Pavlich all over again'

Maybe Melbourne is looking at him so he had to retract

Well our favourite writer from AFL.com, Ryan Davidson has been hard at work again on his trusty Remington typewriter and has put up an excellent end of season review on the AFL website.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-09-17/season-review-western-bulldogs

Now the very same article was posted on the Bulldogs website, but it was interesting to note that someone at the club decided to trim some of the more critical aspects of Davidson's point of view, thus rendering it into somewhat of a puff piece.

http://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/2015-09-17/season-review-bulldogs

I thought the questions regarding Will, Tom Boyd and the key defenders were good ones. Perhaps the club didn't.

Doubt it will worry Davidson all that much though. He's probably on his sixth can by now.
