Disgusted with the Menzel trade. Ok we wanted to move him on but the compensation is so bad, Menzel is so much better than Melksham, freeman and others going for second rounders and the best we could do is 28, doesn't even look we tried to get anything better.

For Adelaide it was Menzel for Kerridge and 28. For Carlton it was Menzel for Kerridge and 21. If we didn't get 28, 21 would go to GWS and be on traded to Collingwood in the Treloar deal.

Is Kerridge and 21 worth a first rounder? Probably. I think we also knew that Menzel was a strong candidate to leave next year. Heart wasn't in it this year and he may have damaged his value further if he repeated 2015.

Carlton getting rid of every player that half assed it this year and getting good value for them. Amazing.

The Menzel trade opened up pick 28, which was part of the deal to get pick 8

Probably right but with the number of players that have coming in we may not need too many picks anyway and if they decide to take Jack we don't have anything between 21 and 59 left.

Whatever happens the club should take Jack now l just to thank SOS for smashing this trade period apart.

We got Menzel cheap no doubt but geez you blokes absolutely aced the GWS deal. Would be indifferent myself to seeing Menzel traded for such unders but 4 players and pick 8.

Feel like a kid in the candy store, our club has finally (at last) embraced the draft/youth revolution. This is a red letter day in the modern day history of our footy club.

I'm not sure if we had 1, 8, 19, 20 & 21 we would be needing anything in the 30/40's.

Better than I'd hoped. Have nixed Essendon for pick 8, and their picks in the 20's aren't enough to get them 7.

Next step should be turning 20 + 21 into pick 7, then grabbing Tomlinson for Yarran (however that needs to be done).

Draft 1 (Weitering), 7 (Francis), 8 (Curnow), 59, 60 (SOSOS) + Tomlinson, Plowman, Kerridge, Sumner, Lamb, Phillips, Korchek + Rookie and PSD.

Judging by how SOS has drafted in the past, I think Weideman would be on the menu if we had picks 7 & 8.

SOS has made out like an absolute bandit with these deals! Disappointing to lose Menz but give me 5 blokes that want to be here over a disinterested lazy talent any day of the week!
