lol, you just keep wringing your hands.

I'd love to magically wave a wand and show you how many Crows players have had a taste this off season
Where have I said this is a problem isolated to Essendon? It's because people like you can't see the problem with them having a snort or shooting up or whatever the **** they do, that it keeps happening. Australians have celebrated their idols excesses for as long as I can remember (thinking about how many cans Marsh or Walters slammed down on a flight). It is actually a shitty part of our culture that is self-perpetuating. It's ugly, and our society is poorer for it on so many levels.

oh yes, it's the fault of people and people like me that people do drugs. If we all wrung our hands a bit more it would all stop. That makes a gigantic amount of sense, thanks for that.

But honestly

Who gives a shit if Carlisle likes having a snort or shooting up or whatever the **** he does.

Most people in their 20s do a bit on their own and it's not because of the footballers

Interesting you mention alcohol, I'd contend that this causes far more issues in society than many illegal drugs. But it is accepted, and why? Cause our goverment says it's ok, and makes money out of the sale of it, that's pretty strange when you think about it.

Ben Cousins, Daniel Chick & Daniel Kerr says Hi

If you were smart enough to socially drink once in a while in a civil manner and keep away from drugs you will live a happy life
HUndreds of thousands of people worldwide are smart enough to use all sorts of drugs socially once in a while in a civil manner and live happy lives - I could guarantee you interact with some of them everyday. The substance isn't the problem - particular users are.

There is a case in South Australia in the country ATM where the local footy coach has been supplying Ice to junior members of the club at Renmark. The AFL really need to set an example, its a community game FFS, this needs to be fixed by the AFL and get down to a Zero tolerance, I cant see the arguement it shouldnt be!

Players have been fined for giving the bird to the crowd for bringing the game into disrepute, WTF has this player done to the image of the game by this getting out on social media?

Mate I would Ban him for 12 months on principal

I give a shit.

Most people in their 20s? Really? And you don't think seeing "celebrities" snorting a line doesn't make it exotic and enticing for the wannabes? Hey, if they can do it, why can't I?

See this is the bit im struggling with. I think we need to have a more progressive attitude to drugs but I don't like this "ahh everyones doing it, who cares" attitude. I'm in my twenties, and im not doing it. All this talk makes me feel like I should be.

It has the death penalty on the table but I dont care, if people want to take illegal drugs then live by the sword die by the sword. Too many problems are caused by drugs I would love to see the death penalty for drug traffickers in particular, if anything is going to stop it, that will.
er... that article (from a very conservative UK paper no less) has two linked sources, both of which are broken and provide absolutely no proof of the claim they are making. Forgive me if I prefer to see something a bit more authorative.

And please, have a think about why reported drug use might be low in a country with such draconion measures.

This is the last post I'll make on this as it's OT, but here's REAL data over a valid time period of what happens when you move from a criminalisation model to a decriminalisation model.

I`m glad i chose a different path in life.

omg!! No!! There is one utterly outrageous outlier situation, that's a good basis for sound policy
