I believe this is a result of the stupidity of early education and child psychologists over the thirty years where everyone gets a certificate. Suddenly when you don't receive anything good you think "Well this sucks! I hate this stupid competition!" Perhaps each of the teams that isn't Hawthorn should get a bumpersticker that says "Participant" .
