Some good points, but there's quite a few that can be counter argued very easily.
I think it's supposed to be humour. For detailed analysis and critique of the film, there's a thread on bigfooty (it's this one).

Also, am I the only one who thought the last scene was lame?

I just saw Luke looking stupid and Rey holding out a lightsabre for an uncomfortably long period of time.

She could have at least said something like: "Hey Luke, some guy just blew up five planets, can you teach me how to telekenisis so I can stop them? Also, I found this thing, do you want it back?"

"Hey Luke, I think your sister wants you to give her a call"

I agree that Finn fighting Kylo is a flaw in the film..shouldn't have happened. Han Solo knew to never go that far in the first three, you don't go near a Jedi..

Then again Kylo was shot by chewie so maybe he was vulnerable..

I'm assuming it was included to boost the toughness levels of Finn's character.

Then again my perception is that it's just a movie/entertainment, a damn good one.
Finn was a trained stormtrooper who may also have been trained in melee combat. He was also uninjured at that point.

Ren was a conflicted Force user who, judging from the film, is not 100% immersed in the Dark Side and unsure of himself. His duel with Finn was probably his first duel, and Finn managed to hurt Ren still further.

That said, Ren did ultimately win out.

Against Rey he was suddenly fighting another Force user, albeit one who was only just discovering her powers. In his weakened state, it was always likely to be a tougher fight for him.

Much preferred the lightsaber stuff in this than the prequels. Was trying too hard to be eye candy duels in those. This was more raw and emotional fighting as you would expect from the characters involved.

I liked the lightsaber duels in the prequels far more than the originals, ( wasnt expecting much in TFA due to no jedi or true sith being in action ) the only one i hated was yoda, that was just ridiculous.

Obi-wan, Annakin, Dooku, and Darth Maul were all awesome in my opinion.

People saying the fighting style in the originals and especially in TFA were more true and honest potrayal of sword fighting hav to remember, they are jedi's, they are siths, they are suppose to be way behind what we believe is capable, except when it gets cartoony like yoda was.

By the end of the 8th and whole of 9th film, im expecting to see some epic lightsaber duels and force control/destruction.

Been alone on an island for 10 plus years, a hot woman visits, cursing that its his daughter.
He made out with his sister so I doubt he cares

You underestimate my power!!!!

Ewan McGregor's a very good actor which made Hayden appear even worse. Ewan held up his end of the bargain in what should've been the biggest moment of the series. A shame that Hayden didn't come to the party.

Christopher Lee had been around long enough to know when to ignore a director who was out of his depth.

Nicely put, agreed. He added some much needed polish to just about every scene he was in.

In terms of acting, for me his highlight was the one on one with Obi-Wan when he was captured late in AOTC (talking about Qui-Gon and trying to sway Obi-Wan to the dark side).

Quite possibly my favorite along with the Opera scene from ROTS.

Go watch Hayden in Shattered Glass and Life As A House, the guy can definitely act.

Life as a house he is the same angsty teen type as Anakin, but it was like he was let off the leash and the director trusted him and gave guidance. You didn't get that feel from Star Wars.

"And another thing: if the Republic is in power, why is the Resistance the "Resistance"? What are they resisting? Isn't the First Order the "Resistance," as they're resisting the hegemony of the Republic? It's like someone on-set said "the Rebels need a new name," without realizing that the political situation in the Galaxy had totally changed since the events of the previous films."

Hear ****ing hear!

Ummm, you watched any Star Wars films before this one?...Luke would have felt the 'disturbance' in the force when those Planets were destroyed as did Obi Wan in a New Hope....the insight of the Force meant words didn't need to be spoken.

The Director in Ep 1 had CGI so far up his arseh*le that humans were thrown in front of a green screen and told to pretend...even someone as talented as Liam Neeson rarely makes eye contact with Jar Jar.
