Sherrif, would you rate Hurley ahead of Tanner at this point in time? Personally I would think Tanner would have to improve significantly this year to stay on the list in 2017 but even in some of Hurley's later games last year he looked like he was struggling to come to grips with the subtleties of body contact in a marking contest and just with game play in general. Not with the coaches. I think most of them would be surprised at his development though. His ability to keep with Pav in the air (after Pav was dominating the session) on Friday was really telling. His speed matched up on Langdon in a drill on Wednesday also made me stop and think 'Geez we have something awesome developing here". He has only been training with the main group for a little while and I don't want to get ahead of myself but I think we something genuinely special developing in Hurley.

He certainly looked good on paper to begin with. I have a soft spot for the Irish having grown up with a few Irish mates so it's nice knowing we might have found a player in one of them. Not with the coaches. Hurley by a deadset mile.
Weller will need to build his stamina as compare to Langdon even though is hard to split both after few training watch I realised that body language play a part. ( eg Weller puff like nearly dead when run out gas as compare to Langdon)I honestly didn't see enough of Hurley during the pre christmas training sessions to form an opinion.
I'm now waiting eagerly for the Peel games.
. Can you like me back as you used to

.In my opinion the thing that stood out about Langdon's form last season at Peel was his four quarter efforts. He is my tip to be the one that steps up the most.Improvement for particular players is great reading for us posters in the off season however it needs to be constant for these young players.
I've seen Crozier dominate preseason scratch matches yet rarely turn it on at AFL level.
The club appears to be working even harder this season on skills based training however I still see a lot of the young guys have a long way to go to reach their maximum which may or may not happen.
The main thing that concerns me for season 2016 is the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year players bar Neale to put together 4 quarters on a regular basis.
I honestly can't see Ross putting too many of the inexperienced guys out there at once even if they are carving up games for Peel.

I am hoping Langdon > Crozier/Weller
Weller was given a contract extension after one season, Langdon was not. Safe to say what the pecking order is in regards to those two.
Don't think you can assume that at all? I would think that FFC are very keen to lock Langdon in long term.

That could not necessarily reflect who the clubs value more. It may also be influenced by if anyone was seriously sniffing around to poach Weller and how seriously he was considering the offer. Flight risk potential must come into it somehow.
Remember reading in Pav's book that it was the first contract extension that was the key to him staying. Had he not signed that, he would've been back to Adelaide in 2002.
No assumptions involved. Langdon may be given an extension down the line but Fremantle were clearly far more keen to lock down Weller. Which strongly indicates they rate him higher.

the more logical assumption is that we have given him an offer and he hasn't agreed to it, yet.
Nah. Could just mean they thought he was more of a flight risk and other clubs (caught caugh Saints) were sniffing around. Could have been to send a messageNo assumptions involved. Not necessarily. He's shown a fair bit and his brother plays for another team. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Pies sniffing around at some pointIf a number 54 draft pick who has played 2 games was offered a contract extension you best believe he would take it.
