Is Maxwell talking about GWS or Collingwood?

So you Know that there is a Huge Drug Problem at the Club?

Then why has Pert not got Rid of the Druggies? Because IF not he is a Hypocrite

Pert has said there is a huge problem, if he could change that I'm sure he would.

so is Pert Talking just about Collingwood?
What Pert is talking about would affect every single club. Young men + money + fame + restrictions on drink, and you get the idea. However, since he's the Collingwood CEO, then his frame of reference for what he says would be what he sees going on at our club.

As for what team Maxwell is talking about, probably us. But ultimately, it would be applicable to every club. The current system is a shambles and just about everyone that isn't at AFL House realises that. Not sure how to fix it, but a priority must be staked out rather than this half in half out system we have now that encourages widespread abuse.

As ridiculous as this may sound to some, just because they'e doing drugs doesn't make them 'druggies', I wouldn't be using that term loosely..

There is merit to the thought that for an AFL player a drug habit is better than an alcohol one.

Why does that make him a hypocrite. There is a problem and he calls it. And that problem stays, with or without them. I reckon having 2 suspended players on the list works better as deterrent than if we would have let them go.

Well I hope that Keeffe and JT Getting Caught would stop the ones that are doing it because they seen what can Happen

Uh n That is not how the mind works . Just make sure you are "too clever" , don't get caught with using drugs and not knowing what is in it, is the moral of the story.

and Knowing that the AFL will do there best to Hide it

I genuinely think some supporters need to see players dropping a line right in front of their faces to realise that drug use is rife within our club.

We have had two players ousted for PED'S after admitting they likely took dodgy coke, we had a raft of players exploit the self reporting loophole and our own CEO has twice described illicit drug use as volcanic. Where do you think he gets the evidence from to make such claims?

Deadset we have a former captain telling us it's rife and still some want to rationalise it as him potentially not referring to players within our club. It's laughable.

FWIW I'm with Finnishpie in that testing shouldn't be undertaken. The only issue then would be identifying the real problem users that could potentially impact on the younger players.

I still remember Josh Thomas telling one of our own Bigfooty posters about how 8 of Collingwood players were on cocaine (and listing who they were)...

Some names you would NEVER suspect, and of course there are some most people know about already.

It's easily above 10 players on our list into illicit drugs, that's being conservative.

A rumour thread on the main board just popped up about a Melbourne based club with extraordinary results. Something is bubbling somewhere.

Barrett said as much on the Footy Show last night.

Ah missed that. Another sh*tstorm in the making or will it stay within the circuit?

I think it will be covered up by the AFL because it is up to them to divulge the figures. Not good for business if they do that.

Adding to that, after he listed who they were, he said "and the rest," so wev probably got quite a few. Anyone who thinks Maxwell wasn't mostly talking about us is kidding themselves.

It was Crash Davis from memory
Still have the DM exchange on my phone.
I have no doubt Maxwell and more recently Pert were using their knowledge of what happens at our club as an example of a wider issue in the AFL.
Josh Thomas should never be able to pull on the jumper again for so readily throwing his mates under a bus to a complete stranger.

Maxwell would be filthy on the 'party pies' that cost us any chance of a 2nd flag let alone a dynasty.
