just consuming some classic dog's highlights thanks to sackofballs and i came across some cracking Basil Zempilas stupidity. 1st Redpath goal v Melbourne as he walks in "he's just got the 3 goals this year, this is his second game of the year.. and he nails it". Then a minute later Redpath is lining up for goal and Baz calls it "he's just got the one goal for the season before today" ..... FUARK, how dumb is this guy? seriously he's like Brick Tamland

I cannot stand him he is absolutely cluless. How the **** does he even have a job in media?!

There are some terrible commentators out there - Hamish isn't polished in front of a mic, BT is well BT, Bruce ahs become a bit of a pardoy of himself. But at least all of them are not incompetent in their functional role of understanding and commentating on an AFL game. Baz is like you said, simply incompetent.

Blame it on WA. We also have to put up with Adrian Barich, who after years on TV presents sports reports looking extremely nervous with a bit of stuttering & mumbling with words. Cometti goes ok though, don't mind him

As god awful as he is, there is at least a minuscule degree of comfort in the knowledge that C7's broadcast of the game is FTA. As opposed to the kick in the balls you receive knowing that you pay good money for the privilege of listening to DerrrWayne, Derrrmott and the rest of the lobotomised simians over at FOX.

Nobody has even mentioned his Cometti-lite tone of commentary, nobody else seems to speak like that in WA.

Der-Wayne lost me when he first said "from the paint" and "crazy good". Tries to be with it, but comes across as entertaining as Christmas cracker jokes.

Only time I have commentary on is if I can't get to watch the game and listen on the radio Like with cricket and NRL commentators, the crap they dribble just does my head in.

Baz makes more mistakes in a 5 minute slot than Commetti has in his entire career. Actually, I honestly can't remember a mistake from Commetti.

Thats not a practical solution at all. Other than in a pub or in a social situation that is beyond your control, have you ever watched and enjoyed a game on mute?

Why I would do this in the comfort of my own home is an abstract concept beyond my grasp.
