Wouldn't shock a lot of Melbourne supporters, but Melbourne's form since the bye has been pretty good aside from a loss to the Saints and a very average win against GCS. Carlton on the other hand haven't looked good at all. We should have this by at least 4 goals.

If we want to play finals this year we need to be aggressive at the contest from the opening bounce. If we can do that, maintain our structures as a finals side should against a lower ranked opponent then we win by enough to close the 2.8% down.

That said we're not a finals quality side yet (albeit we're in much better form than north) so I fear we'll see the Melbourne of old and we'll loose by 18 points.

Having a shot at finals gives me hope that the players will come out ready to play tough, aggressive footy.

Hoping the chance albeit slight chance of playing finals footy provides that motivation to really put Carlton to the sword like we need to.

Problem today was always going to be our inability to kill a marking contest with Hogan/Watts in it. Either they mark or their crumbers will have a good chance. That's goal number 1.
