haha.I swear, Barry's even bigger than he was when he played, but not fat wise. Dude's a ******* brick wall.
Ahh, well that explains it.He has been body building for a while now after retirement. He's solid AF.

If Gill needed any proof that the week off before finals does not work...[/
I thought the footy season was over ))
Unless of course, the umps found a few more reasons to give Buddy a 50m penalty up to the goal square.Fev. The guy just knows where the goals are. If we took a risk on him and had Pav and Fev in the forward line against the Hawks in 2013 we would have a cup in the cabinet.
She can barely kick 20 metres though was often not making the distance from 25-30. Anybody can kick a goal from 20 metres but the delivery won't be there in the womens leagueThat's her role in the game. She doesn't miss much, has a good baulk, and knows how to find space.
Apart from that, these games don't give her any opportunity to show what she can do.
Please enlighten us.That one i got to blame it on Ross, just dont condition him properly for final series.Winning minnow league is important but getting all your good player for final series assault is another thing.

Apparently she plays in the NT league which is about the 7th ranked league in the country, i doubt she will get picked but I mean she could, guess we will find out in a week or so
Could be picked for marketability too I guess, having played in the last 3 EJ whitten games
Fair enough, I concede it may be possible she gets pickedWarwick Capper couldn't kick more than thirty metres and he had a pretty successful career. I agree she doesn't appear to be able kick too far, but 20m might be an exaggeration (just like 30m for Capper was).
Give her a smaller ball, and real competition, and we might see a bit of steel.
I'm not saying she will be great, or even good. I just don't think her performance in a charity match should be enough to put a line through her career.
When did he suffer the final injury last year? That whole period was so stressful, perhaps I have selectively forgotten! Please enlighten us.
In 2013, Freo kept him out for the last 8 games of the home and away season to try to give him every chance of getting fit before returning for the finals.
In 2015, by Round 18 he had only missed 2 games, played his best game in R18, then got injured and missed R20, came back for 2 rounds, had another great game in R22, then injured again and missed the rest of the season.
Calf injuries often take a long time to really heal (eg. Bennell). I thought Freo managed McPharlin quite well.
If you have suggestions what they should have done, then please do tell.
I listened to the most recent Barlow podcast which included McPharlin. Without him sounding at all arrogant, I got the sense, that he desperately hoped Freo were going to sneak through the Prelim, into the GF in 2015 and he would have played. That is, I think, Freo gambled resting him the extra week to give him every chance of playing, if they made the GF ... unfortunately, the Hawks knocked us out in the Prelim and McPharlin had to do his lap of honour a week earlier than he hoped to.
Please enlighten us.

Or just no bye week and we start the finals?I hope this bye week is a one off!
Just bring in a wild card round,1-6 has the week off,7 v 10 & 8 v 9....Winners advance,losers mothballs....
I'd prefer we just get straight into it but if they must have this stupid rest week I'd just have a 8 v 9 play off for the last spot.I hope this bye week is a one off!

The mismanagement was to keep playing him every week when he was fit, as it was extremely likely his old body couldn't handle so many games over the course of the season. Cumulative toll. It's not just bad luck or coincidence that he was injured by the end of the season. Proper management would have been to rest him at regular intervals. And he shouldn't have played in Rd 21/22 of 2015. With such a valuable and injury prone player, it was madness to bring him back after a niggle from Rd 19. They've made the same mistake with mismanaging Pavlich as well for several seasons. I guess that's what happens when you only have one good KPP at either end.

Was it problematic in the first place? Its happened like 5 timesWill the player resting become problematic again though?

Please don't give them anymore dumb ideas! The AFL would want two games, one on the Friday night time slot and then the Saturday night.
