Read something on another thread which seems an idea thats to good to be true. (If allowed) which gave me the idea of the following.

Trade Witts for Second Rounder which is on-traded to GWS for WHE

Trade Pick 25 and our first round 2017 for GWS picks 16 (GWS picked up off Geelong) and GWS 15 or 17 or 18 (Depending on tomorrows result)

That way we can Draft a Griffin Logue and Patrick Kerr type and count that as 2 First Round picks to make it easier for trading moving forward.

Trade our 3rd and Jack Frost for Sam Reid (SYD)

Then we have the option to trade out 2 of the likes of Blair/Oxley/Williams/Nathan Brown and even Broomhead etc for the points required for Daicos and Brown (Both will be late 2nd/Early 3rd Round picks)

Theres no point in trading for a first this year. Rather trade into 2017 where we can get a Peter Wright type.

Ok type deals However, Sydney wouldn't want Frost and a 3rd and we can't trade Blair.

I think we sho

I think we should let Sam Reid get 17-18 games back into his body next year at Sydney and get him for free as a 25 year old in a years time
He will not be at Sydney next year. Sydney need salary cap space. He has not played this year due to injury and Sydney does not appear to have missed him. The Hawks are interested in him.

We cant trade 2017 first rounder...

I would be shattered if he ended up plauong CHF for the Dawks and kicking 40 goals a year.. I think a 25yr old Reid and Moore would be a good combo moving forward.. Make it Happen Gubby!!

With Grundy getting old Sydney need a FB thats the only reason I put frost in there.. Blair i hope he goes. I would actually give someone a draft pick to take him..

I was of the understanding as long as we make 2 first round selecion every 4 years we can do what we want.. That would bring us in 2 first rounders so we would be sweet to do what we want for a couple of year..
Right ok, I thought we simply can't trade the pick next year. If you're right, then we have more freedom than we thought.

Rule is 2 1sts used over a 4 year period. We traded out 2015 and 2016. Trading out 2017 1st and trading in 2 1sts this year would then mean that next year we would be able to trade out the 2018 1st for an elite tall fwd and this draft we could take Logue and Battle or Kerr. Love that scenario alot.

Who knows if this wasn't in the thinking all along? people inside footy clubs might just have a better idea than us!
Perish the thought?
How dare you ;) suggest Collingwood might actually have a clue and do smart things ;)
Hush!
You will start something, with that kind of talk.

:thumbsupemoji: :handok:

Excellent post Tassie

Mine too.
I'm with you Ramsay, fully fit etc, is a best 22 player. At worst he's in he emergencies, but I have him moved up to sit solidly in the 22.
He'll go well with Maynard and co

I don't get why you would trade for a player such as Reid, who has been severely cut down by injury?

Unless it only cost a dispensable player or a 4th round pick, I just can't see the value. It's a huge 'IF' him getting on the park playing regular footy

From the Age

Collingwood are eyeing Wells and Chris Mayne as free agents, while retaining interest in Giants fringe player Will Hoskin-Elliott, who is on a contract worth more than $400,000 a year but has played most of the year in the NEAFL.

Ruckman Jarrod Witts appears likely to leave the Magpies for Gold Coast, with the Pies seeking a pick in the low 20s and the Suns most likely to offer pick 27.

**** that, pick 27 isn't good enough for Witts.

Passengers, you say?
Hmmm, Mackie would be a good starting point.,
Motlop went missing most of the game would have been better with Cockatoo.
Henderson bad call.
A lot of ordinary performances, but Swans were great.
