It leaves him in an awkward spot if he leaves and sites opportunity now with his main competitor gone.

FWIW I don't think this hurts as much as some are thinking given Marsh was more a hybrid defender than KPD.

Not good, Marsh has shown some very good attributes this year. Raw but can be a very good defender in the future. I thought he was staying for sure with him showing his gratefulness of Collingwood VFL coaches or whatever.

I never rated the guy. Tried to like him, however, has no footy sense, always looks lost on the field and his disposal is terrible. We don't need these types of players. The club is better than that and needs to focus on quality users of the ball and kids who can read the game.

I never rated the guy. Tried to like him, however, has no footy sense, always looks lost on the field and his disposal is terrible. We don't need these types of players. The club is better than that and needs to focus on quality users of the ball and kids who can read the game.

I was hopeful. Great closing speed & agility, decent to good overhead mark. Positional play needed work and disposal needed a lot of tidying up. No doubt really poor turnovers in the back half really killed us in a number of games this year, so if it means better kicks play, so be it.

Its more fortunate that he is than isn't for 2 reasons:
1. Probably home sick rather than something worse
2. We actually get something in return rather than him just retire
