THE Western Bulldogs claim what has to be the best premiership in VFL-AFL history. Seventh on the ladder after Round 23, the Dogs were underdogs in four finals — two interstate — had an injury list that never quit and broke a 62-year flag drought two years after the sudden departure of captain Ryan Griffen and coach Brendan McCartney had left them in crisis.

Do abbi gilmore posted that her and Jake are no longer together. I wonder why she felt to make it public. Mentioned they split 6 months ago.
Hopefully they both continue to be the best parents they can and could be why Jakes form may have been off.

I was shocked to see this. First thing I thought though was that this could be why jake was having trouble on the field, just didn't seem himself at all. While the injury could have been part of it, his confidence was low and couldn't do the things we had all associated with jake.

Unselfish of her to wait until post season to do it imo. May also have played a part in Jake's late season form. In any case so long as they both have plenty of support around them, then hopefully it isn't too bumpy.

Between the shoulder injury and the birth of his second child, I wasn't surprised he was a little off. Now we learn his long term relationship has broken down.

Dude held it together for his family and the team's sake, played through the pain and won a premiership.

The people who labelled him selfish look real stupid now, eh?

Sad to see, but I'm sure they both know there is unlimited support for both of them from the Bulldogs family.

I'm sure I saw them together on my wife's snapchat late in the season. She even travelled to Perth for the game against Freo in which he didn't play.

I did post at the time that I thought something personal was going on with him, I thought perhaps depression or something along those lines, so while I'm. glad it's not, it's going to be a tough year or two. particularly given he has the two kids he more than likely won't be seeing everyday.

The shoulder injury was unrelated to form, I'll always maintain that.

Jake's poor form in the second half of the season now makes complete sense. All the negative publicity just made it worse. It's still going to be tough for him going forward .

They went to Bali together in the off season, so nobody suspected. He may have moved in with JJ who lives nearby but that's just a guess.

All those who bagged him for being "selfish", including commentators and "experts", can GTFO.
