It put a dent in his career for a number of years. Effectively killed his career as a rock star when he was blacklisted from American radio, but he reinvented himself as a successful country singer. I guess the redneck country & western fans down south are more accepting of good old boys who f**k their underage cousins.

Bogus on both counts, IMO

a) No such thing as "rapey". A shit word which is thankfully no longer as fashionable as it was a few years ago. Feminists were just getting on their high horse and using the most played track of the year to push their agenda. Sexist and patriarchal? Maybe. Condoning rape? I think not… People trivialised rape by describing "Blurred Lines" as rapey.

b) Thicke & Pharrell lost the copyright case, but they've appealed the verdict and hopefully they win. I think they were dudded. Their song is not the same as the Marvin Gaye track they emulated. The melody, words & hook are nothing alike. You can't copyright a sound, a groove or a style. Where would the music industry be if people successfully sued each other for copying sounds or style? Pfft…
