MRP / Trib. RD 4 Cats V Hawks - Menegola 1 Week, Parsons 2 Weeks

Both will go.

Really disappointing from Parsons just because he's quickly becoming important, will be sorely missed for a couple. Lucky no damage so should see him maybe get 2.

Menegola 1 id say.

3 down to 2 probably for Parsons.

Don't mind the young guys having a physical edge though.

All good teams have those players with a nasty streak.

Milburn, Scarlett, Rooke, Johnson, Kelly, Chapman.

It's what is lacking from the second tier players - Duncan, Guthrie, Motlop, Blicavs, Stanley, Smith etc.

Parsons, Cockatoo, McCarthy, Parfitt. You don't want completely reckless stuff but if they want to walk the line let them have a crack.

Thompson's was judged low impact. The precedence being the damage to the player who was hit. Both played on within minutes.
I'm not arguing with you. I'd have no issue with it being graded low impact. But I get the sense they will make an example of it given how obvious a strike it was and the "bad look" factor. I expect a medium grading to give it the outcome they will want.

Precedent is not relevant to the MRP, remember.

Menegola would be stiff based on what I saw at the ground but I have a feeling he might get a week off.

Parsons will miss a couple of weeks for the elbow.

Parsons will get 2 weeks (should get 4 that's a very dangerous act).

Menegola is a poor technique tackle where in spinning the player to the side he loses his balance hence he goes to ground and so does hodge. It is not the type of sling tackle they are trying to outlaw as doesn't have 2 motions in it. Should be a fine but i am expecting a 1 week suspension.
When you compare Parsons to Thompson elbow on Dangerfield it will be interesting to see which action the MRP deem more forceful

You guys are kidding yourselves parsons impact of high.. I'd be annoyed if it's medium given Scott Thompson on danger, Weller throwing his elbow out last week not sighted! High contact, careless, low impact. 2 down to 1.
He gets off light but that's the system

Parsons hit looks way worse than it actually was, no chance that was high impact Hodge milked the shit out of that one hahaha.

Menegola had no clue the ball had been dislodged but that counts for nothing. Its a sling motion, and while there was an arm free, it still stands and head contact to the ground.

There didnt seem to be any ill effects to the tackle so the medical report should be negligible.

Parsons IMO will be deemed intentional, high and careless. Probably 3 down to 2.... Again the after effects should be cleat from the medical report as ho got up, took the free and played on.

Mind you, the only difference between Scott Thompson and Parsons was one was lying down the other standing up. And in fact Hodge got up and played on where as PFD stayed layed out for a few minutes.

Not that the MRP cares, but I can clearly see the GFC recipient ( PFD) only gets the 1 week and the GFC offender (Parsons) getting 2.

Go Catters

Intentional AND careless? Can't be both.

For me intentional, high and low impact - Hodge did not appear to be adversely affected at all. Which is a two week suspension down to one with an early plea. If the MRP deciide that it was medium impact, then it is 3 down to 2.

Stupid and careless act, although not with malicious intent in my opinion and should be rubbed out for a couple of weeks as that sort of stuff needs to stamped out from the game.

Not a Hodge fan, but respect to him for getting straight up after both hits and taking his free kicks without carrying on or remonstrating with our players.

Exactly what we'd expect from Selwood or Dangerfield in that situation.
