Gaff for braun. Although I suspect others would make way for braun. Darling would play instead of Hansen.

There are others like Selwood and jones and seaby who aren't clear cut. Midfield was the strength of that team by far.

Jako Darling, I know Peter Matera won the Norm Smith but I have said this for the past 25 years, Evans turned that game for the Eagles, from about 10 minutes to half time. In general, not in the calibre of Matera, Judd, Cousins, Kerr et al, but would turn games when they had to be turned. Was known as a finals specialist.

Evans was great, especially in the biggest games, but the move of Heady to the guts (coming off a hammy no less) was the move that turned that GF. Roo got the Norm Smith for his outstanding finals series and his amazing goal tally in the game from a wing but Heady to the guts was a Malthouse master stroke in that game.

Judd with his speed, line breaking and goal kicking (together with his ability to win clearances) is the perfect current day player and exactly what we don't have (outside Shuey). He'd be the best of our past players to lift the current group IMO.
