i got reported for rough conduct because i bumped someone off the ball.

Mate of mine got suspended for 7 weeks for this very thing.

Bloke didn't even fall over!

Ok, So I got a message back from WW and They have confirmed that they are working on a patch for the game. They can't give a date on it yet but they are working on it now.

Also, to the people that think Twistie3 is a shill for WW. You could be on to something. o_O

His real name of Dean Milhe is in the credits under Special Thanks. It might explain that last video and why he didn't cover the NM vid on his channel (Though considering Wicked Witch themselves had to apologize for the NM footage, I can see why he didn't cover it.)

I brought this up days ago. He even made a video about it. That's why I keep saying he's a shill.

Felt good playing GWS on Hard and smashing them by 80 points.

11 to Franklin and 10 to Heeney.

Field kicking feels pretty tight in this game.

I am tempted to report this as it is completely off topic and making me very frustrated with WW considering AFL is the most popular code in Australia yet rugby league get a better game. but then again this is the 4th one compared to AFL's third. So maybe this gives us hope for AFL Ev 2
There's also the small detail of who is developing each sport's game.

Finally got the game last night, played for 3 hours and jesus, some of you are just negative nancys up in here. It's easily the best AFL game to date. Those of you that are saying ohhh it looks like ps1, do yourself a favour, go plug up a ps1 and compare it and tell me that this version is 50 times better graphics. It's not perfect, but I can live with this. We are literally 2-3 patches away from making this a pretty dam good AFL game. Once the marking is fixed, a few stat issues, a few bugs here and there, I'll be in for the long haul. It makes me excited because the next iteration could be the one.

Oh but the commentary is grade A terrible.

Agreed.. best afl game so far. Definitely needs patching atm though. Hopefully the same developer gets to make then next edition also because this is a great foundation.

This game is so frustratingly bad at times, but then it has small glimmers of greatness. Case in point: the final quarter of my game against Port Adelaide in my coach career was awesome.

I also played a couple of thrillers against Collingwood and Sydney in the rounds leading up to this. However, I should have probably been smashed in all 3 of these games if the AI wasn't brain dead and could kick for goal. It infuriates me that this is an issue, as it either means Wicked Witch didn't bother testing their game, or they just don't give a shit. Also, if their patch (who the **** knows when that will be out) doesn't fix the problem with Be a Pro where you can't advance your career if you're suspended for the final round of a season, I'll be extremely disappointed.

It's quite clearly hyperbole, but because the claims are so ridiculous it ruins whatever credibility their actual argument has. When someone says something as stupid as "AFL Evo looks like a PS1 game," they just look like a moron and their actual point gets lost.

If you take that very seriously, that's more like you having egg on your face.

i'd argue it. it's probably.. only... twice as good as final fantasy IX to be fair :D

AFL Evolution has the potential to be the best AFL game yet, however I don't feel it is a finished product. As it stands the game has some key issues that should be fixed quickly as people are returning the game because of them. I have just compiled a short list of things that could realistically be addressed in a patch in the near future to make sure this game reaches its full potential.

1. AI difficulty levels, as it stands the gap between Easy and medium is too big. On easy you rarely get tackled, on medium you can barely get a kick away without getting tackled.

2. The Ai goal kicking is very flawed, seem to mostly miss easy shots but nail harder ones. This should be reversed and on harder difficulties the accuracy of the AI should increase.

3. The free kicks for throwing the ball occur too often, you should be able to give a handball away while being tackled, not thrown out every time.

4. The advantage rule needs to be tweaked so it is only advantage if you pick up the ball after the free kick has been payed but choose to start running or disposing it, not just standing there which in this case there is no advantage if you get tackled straight away.

5. The height of the ball when kicked. This was really disappointing and thought would be addressed in this new game. The height of the balls trajectory through the air is very low. In AFL, players all the time do high kicks into the air. Every shot on goal during play in Evolution doesn't reach any higher then half way up the posts. The trajectory of the clearance kicks for example could be tweaked to give a higher long kick through the air to a pack of players. The height of set shots is spot on.

6. Stats. At the moment the stats in competition and career mode aren't comparable for all players across the competition. To give the competition and career mode stats another avenue to it, it would be good to be able to sort all the players in the competition at once for a given stat such as goals, marks etc. At the moment you are only able to sort players on the one team. It would be Like a full competition player leader board where you can compare players across different teams. This Is something I really liked in AFL Live 1.

7. On career the players drafted have ratings that are way too high, the number 1 pick should have a rating no more then the low 70's.

8. There are not enough interchanges during a 5 or 2.5, minute match.

9. There should be a time option for 7.5 minute matches as I feel this would provide the most realistic scores.

10. Players should lead more regularly when you have locked onto them. They should sprint away from their opponents to create some uncontested marking opportunities. These are the only real issues I've had with this game. Apart from this I really enjoy this game however if most of these issues aren't fixed I don't know how long it will be before I go back to AFL Live 1.

It's 100 steps or more behind Live 1. It's still emulating the PS2 games, like Live 2 did.

I can't take what you just said seriously. You must have a really bad memory. I on the other hand remember that on AFL PS2 games they used to mark the ball only using one palm of their hand, the players didn't have faces and there were no grubber kicks.

Here Here! Then Dusty Martin will be able to fend off Kayne Turner, Jason Johannisen will be able to outrun Rory Sloane and Eddie Betts will have an agility rating higher than 83. geesh can't get over that last one. I'm going to do it so the best player in the competition for each attribute has a 97-99 depending on what the attribute is and then go down from there. I'll be doing a bit of experimenting in the free roam mode as well.
Ive been fiddling with player ratings in game effects since the game came out. Speed definitely has an impact and it's much better when slow players feel slow. But there are plenty of ratings which Im sure have no impact on the game. Tagging does not. Set shots for goal has no impact and is entirely dependent on stick skills. Positioning? Everyone sticks to everyone.

Marking has an effect. Other ratings have an impact. Kicking accuracy does (I think) and so does kicking power.

I tried to figure out the difference between speed/acceleration/agility by lowering each to 0, then trying 1 at a time at 100 and couldnt figure it out. It's a shame because players can change direction way too easily, and I thought agility might have effected this.

Don't bother with free roam because the players are chosen randomly which makes testing ratings impossible.
