No, the original prognosis was: at least til the bye rounds, but it's an unpredictable injury, so could be longer.I reckon the assessment had been revised. It was originally 12 wasn't it?
This could be an f'ing disaster.
No it fell already, happened sometime during the 3rd quarter last weekThe sky is falling...
Just don't let him play against GeelongWe won't see him this year. Make sure it's right and let him rip in 2018.
I can't see why we wouldn't give him a run for 3 or 4 games at the end of the year, especially if we're not in the hunt for finals. We won't see him this year. Make sure it's right and let him rip in 2018.
Also how many guys "make it" after such a run of injuries in their formative years?Snide remarks aside how is it not disastrous to lose almost a whole year from a player whose development this year directly impacts on our ability to assess the quality of our midfield and list generally?
Yes, the coaches, bless them, decided that Laverde ought to play forward but that was before our midfield was the worst at winning contested ball in the competition.
There is a lot of uncertainty about our ruck stocks, a key defender, the half back line and the midfield. That we don't have one of our most talented players available makes it that little bit harder to assess our list.
I'm not sure how many midfield positions you believe are available at Essendon but I'm pretty sure the team selection meetings wouldn't be as straightforward as you believe!Snide remarks aside how is it not disastrous to lose almost a whole year from a player whose development this year directly impacts on our ability to assess the quality of our midfield and list generally?

Nope. In 1991 (his first year) he barely played and was almost delisted because of injuries.Hird was injured mostly after those formative years though wasn't he? It was after the brownlow win his body hit the skids.
