At a minimum he's a better tall forward than some of the spuds in the league, and a necessary part of our ruck structure. He isn't competing with McKernan for a list spot.

Much better footballer, better ruck man, better fwd, obviously McKernan is better when the ball is on the ground but thats not exactly why you have a ruckman/ruckfwd in the side. Never had a clear run at it in the last 4 years, not a form slump. Terrible call.

Exactly, he's played already this season, had a good game in the reserves, now is on the big stage. If he can't preform, he's done, get rid of him.

Right...so he is finally starting to get some continuity, playing some fairly good footy & you want to get rid of him if he under performs in a single game? Would you trade out McKernan first? Still doesn't make any sense to me at all.

TBell is a use the height to advantage mark in the 50 and a pretty good set shot. I've always loved those things about him. Saying Smack is just better at finding the ball around the ground is underselling him a bit I think as he's pretty damn mobile and not utterly useless when the ball hits the deck. I like TBell too though and I'm glad he's got another shot on the back of some pretty decent and sustained VFL form from all reports. If he can kick 6 on Saturday night I will be Randy Marsh giffing all over the joint.

I'd prefer Tom stays well away from our forward 50 zone, good goal kicker or not. Our current balance is too good to upset. I'm sure the coach will instruct him as such with our 3 tall forwards already.
