Zaharakis deserves to get a good contract. Reckon 550 to 600k will be the figure.

He might want 4. Could be why it's taking so long.Never in doubt of leaving.
Would probably sign a 3 year deal which will take him to 30

He's an important part of the squad when in form so he's definitely required.More than happy for the club to give him 4.

Will be pretty peeved though if he signs his contract and goes back to his old ways and plays lazy football.
I have thought that before.Reckon the penny has dropped.

"DAVID Zaharakis is edging closer to re-signing at Essendon, having only recently opened talks about a new deal with the club.
The in-form midfielder is the Bombers' next priority signing, with the club having recently tied down young star Joe Daniher and emerging midfielder Darcy Parish to new deals.
Zaharakis has enjoyed some of the best form of his career in the past three months after an inconsistent start to the season, but is one of Essendon's most vital players with his dash and run through the midfield.
He is a restricted free agent, so Essendon could match a rival's offer for him if he chose to look elsewhere at the end of the season, but the 27-year-old said he was keen to get a contract sorted "soon".
It's difficult to say without knowing what he has been paid previously. Sometimes they front load earlier contracts if their is cap space or maybe they have promised him more money in his next contract. What do you think he should get paid? 500-600 a year?
Seeing the revival of Zaka has been one of the highlights of 2017 for me.Half way through the season and there was a ton of unhappy bomber bigfooty ppl with zaka....stella finish to the year and possibly our most consistent over this period.
