Watched the original IT the other week doesn't hold up as well as I expected

Broadly speaking: kids are pretty good, adults pretty horrible, spider pretty hilarious.

I thought the new version was ok, but only ok. It relied purely on jump scares, without creating the ongoing feeling of dread that the town of Derry is meant to give.

Yeah, pretty much. Ghost train at the Royal Show cheesy. Found it a relentless chore. Almost walked out to catch Mother! instead. At least you get some shits'n'giggles with Aronofsky's overwrought hysteria...

The new IT didn't know what kind of film it wanted to be. Started out quite shocking but ended up feeling like Stranger Things pt. II.

I wish you were right, Stranger Things was much more IT than the new IT movie.

Ever since it was announced I was annoyed that it was a feature film. A premium 10 to 13 part series would be by far the best way to adapt the novel. Missed opportunity.

Looking at this again I'm a tad concerned about old mate on the right

Did anyone check his pulse?

Old mate on the right wearing leggings is male? o_O

In regards to the young lady in the main picture, "One supporter who wasn’t going to miss out was life long Crows supporter Beryl O’Flaherty, 74, from Bolivar Gardens. She and her family camped out for 15 hours to be at the front of the queue at the Entertainment Centre to grab tickets at 9am. "I was very disappointed we couldn't get our normal seats" a distraught Beryl told The Advertiser"

I assumed JBC was referring to the bloke in the hat.

Red hat*

You can only see his head and his arm haha.

Maybe I'm wrong about the original intention but I found it funnier this way.
LOL, that person was previously invisible to me. Now I get the "check pulse" reference. :$

So, doing a mandatory white ribbon violence against women module. Serious cause, but the delivery is just atrocious. It's designed to make men feel guilty even if they aren't perpetrators of violence. Anyway, this question appeared:

"Do you watch pornography that depicts violence against, or degrades women?"

Mfw picture Sasha Gray licking a toilet bowl...pause...

"No."

young Reg?

He's fine. Just tucking the scrotum back in to the pyjama bottoms. bloody nuisance having to get dressed at 2am to get in line to buy your finals ticket. If only there was another way to buy them without having to stand in line in the cold for hours and hours...

Yeah I'd laugh at how silly they look lining up for finals tickets but then I think, they are lining up for finals tickets! sigh.

We exist to finish 5th but then get beaten by 8th who just scraped in, then gotten beaten comfortably the next week. Yeah us go Port. Give everyone involved in that impressive finish lifetime tenure.

Times like this glad I'm not working in government. 'Are you a straight male? Yes. Do you realise you're shit then? Um, no. Bzzzt. Mandatory reeducation training for you.'

The cause is questionable. I've two boys and my wife and I are teaching them (outside Karate classes), violence against anyone is not on, male or female. If they get in a relationship or at work later and they are abused, verbally or physically by a female I don't want that treated as a laugh or lesser issue. I think every workplace should have policies in place about violence, that puts all these as unacceptable, not implicitly or explicitly making some cases less worthy of attention.

My Mrs is in the government also and went to a workshop on racism. She is half Chinese, born here. She said it was amazing as the white people basically spent the entire time there being told they were all racist and no ifs and buts about it. As she has some ethnic origins she was then excluded from all of the homework at the course as it was for the 'white' people only. She approved!
