I don't have Facebook and I know those rumour pages are bullshit but they're running with Rockliff nominating port. Doesn't tie in with him meeting us today and his manager coming out and saying we'll no more by the close of the week. If true, that would be shattering. Another ball accumulator is exactly what we need

THE pressure of being a No.1 draft pick and receiving a multi-million dollar contract at age 19 have been identified as contributing factors in Western Bulldogs forward Tom Boyd’s mental health battles.
So why not pull a Daisy and redo the contract?

This is the only mention i can seem to find of that, though i really don't think a page going by PAFC News would be unbiased

I'd suspect it wasdude, especially as we had the very next pick and Dodoro was giggling like a little school girl when he put the bid in.....

Absolutely the notion of Essendon bidding on a Silvagni was funny but there was an underlying purpose to it, namely to keep us honest and force us to use pick 52 or whatever it was on him. Not 100% sure on the F/S rules and sure not every pick 52 is going to make it, but I'm sure Essendon (and every other club) would prefer to force us to use a pick on a F/S rather than let us take him for pick 100 + someone at pick 52.

We actually had the next 2 picks after they bid , we obviously matched, but then passed on our next selection as we had a full list. Dodoro would have known that

I'm 99.9% sure the Dodoro bid was a perfectly co-ordinated bid from a personal friend of SOS to give some cover to a List Manager to pick his son and show that he is worthy of that pick.

Which JSOS was.

It was a nice touch from Dodo.

Well Dwayne Russell just said on 3AW that Gibbs is 90% going to Adelaide.
Are we giving 10% to charity, or fusing it onto Kerridge?

So why not pull a Daisy and redo the contract?

I'd say a fair chunk is already tied to performance.

Not true: we signed Wright as a DFA after the draft, which put us at 39, with the maximum being 40.

Where did Port get all this cap space from to chase Rockliff? I thought they were in a precarious cap position and were even trying to move Hartlett on to free space.

Either way seems strange Rockliff would want to come to us and not a contender. We look very promising and very soon to players or we gots the cassshhh.

For a third round pick Jack Silvagni has already delivered with the Marketing and joy he has brought to the club in two years.

He'll be around for a few more too.

My understanding was that Rockiff was meeting us today, Port tomorrow.

So if he has aleeady decided that's quite pre-emptive.

Or it could be an attention grabbing headline telling its audience what it wants to hear.

The other point on Boyd is we need to start testing our improved culture. The bond and leadership in this playing group and administration, can turn players around.
Exactly. If our culture is ready to be strength rated then why not see if we can turn a player or two around.

The extra 2 Mil for each club

They actually did us a favour, allow us to have another pick late in the draft if needed

Maybe the meeting with Carlton didn't go very well, or maybe as a 28 yo (in Feb) he would rather play finals straight away than go on Carlton's journey.

SOS has a good understanding of how to build a winning line-up and is also ruthless in his pursuit of it.

I'm totally supportive of Bolton but feel he may have erred in his judgement this time around.
Cas is a short term option. I suspect this last contract will be the last one he signs at Carlton.

At the time I thought it had cost us draft position, but it actually did absolutely nothing other than push the pick forward, such was the proximity to the free hit zone for the points system.

Let’s hope he meets their president when he’s there. One conversation with that knob jockey and he’ll be ours for sure.

And Chocco Phillips said that Motlop is very likely to end up at Port.

They can't have too much space.
