Good to hear, glad they're doing it with the Storm and glad they're working on tactical stuff away from prying eyes. Just hope we get to see some pics and reports from the club.
Wouldnt be a bad move to adopt them as a brother club. Brilliant club with an appetite for success. They do all things of the highest quality.

That is actually great news to hear that we are training with a team from another code.

Hopefully they get a few tackling tips from the storm boys, because apart from Steele, Dunstan and Gilbert the rest of the teams have got spaghetti arms when it comes to sticking a tackle!

That was one of the issues that I have noticed over the last couple of years that we attempt a tackle but don't really stick it allowing teams to handball away etc.
I can imagine us learning a fair bit about tackling, locking down defensively, evasive skills and running patterns from a top rugby team.
I wonder what the storm are hoping to get out of it.

Sam Gilberts going to teach them how to kick.

What’s abouts if we promise not to tell Melbourne Football club what we saw?

They wouldn't care.

It's summer and it's hot. They don't do training camps when it's hot.

Maybe we can use it is an opportunity to get in Craig Ballamy's ear. Let's get him in as a high performance manager whatever the heck that is

The camp Melbourne cried to the Union about, the Storm do for two weeks and have done so for years

Godd to see a pic of Bruce at least running as well, because he's another I've been wondering about, as I don't think he was seen at all at the open training just before Christmas and I don't remember having seen a pic of him for a long time from training.

Has anyone who's been to a training session this year seen him out there?

I suspect those 3 (Newnes, Bruce and Pierce) are in a rehab group, just doing running at this stage.

Membrey mentioned in an interview Bruce had off season knee surgery and would be joining in full training in the next few weeks.

I'm guessing we will get as much info on this injury as we did on Steele's moonboot
As I said recently, it seems like we only get told about preseason injuries now if it leaks out somehow. Skunk may have slipped up mentioning about Josh having had that op.

So with Paddy and Bruce having missed about a month or more of training, I guess that means Marshall and Battle will have been teaming up with Skunk on the forwardline during that period, which ought to have been good for their development and experience- playing on the likes of Brown and Carlisle in particular.

Thanks for the info, but why would they do that for? Some people would love to atleast watch them train. Especially people in the area.

Hi guys,

In regards to the training camp this week, I have just checked with our football department, and the camp is in conjunction with Geelong Grammar and the Melbourne Storm – Both clubs will be training/working on strategy and tactical game plan simulation so the sessions are going to be closed off from the public.

I know some wanted to go watch them but there you go - sorry!

I'd hazard a guess that it's more important they work on strategies, tactics and training out of the public eye at this stage of the pre season than worrying about having open sessions for the public. They'll have those during the season.

Looking at the team last year , I was leaning for us to replace Weller in our best 22 , however after the guy has shown so much determination to drop a huge amount of weight and really putting in during the preseason , I will find it hard to take him out of the 22.
Which is good , but it closes the door on any newcomer into the forward line.

Geary - Brown - Webster
Roberton - Carlisle - Savage
Sinclair - Steele - Acres
Weller - Bruce - Billings
Membery - McCartin - Gresham

Longer - Ross - Steven

Newnes / Dunstan / Stevens / Armitage and Gilbert

I really do feel this will be the line up - unless we get injuries

I was kind of hoping the side would look like this

Geary - Austin - Webster
Roberton - Carlisle - White
Sinclair - Steele - Acres
Long - Bruce - Billings
Membery - McCartin - Gresham

Longer - Ross - Steven

Stevens / Dunstan / Coffield / Battle

with Weller , Savage , Newnes , Goddard , Armitage , Freeman , McKenzie , Phillips waiting in the wings if anyone doesn't cut it

The preseason games will be a must see , to see who gets in the team , due to our supply of talent now

He might by using Tapatalk, think that adds sigs into the post instead of the big footy sig section

Sounds about right . Do people find it annoying because I’ll turn it off if that is the case.

Can’t wait for 2018 season.
