The boss and goes ok. The dumb pricks like ox didn't get it

Yes Cathy does go okay , she goes right out the front door or the trapdoor as Hutchy pulls the lever .
Maybe you could explain to us all on bigfooty if you were surprised by Cathy being booted and if it was in the survey as well !
Give Hutchy some clever credit he seems to have cleared out so many staff without any need for any face to face contact or any personal confrontation at all
But Cathy has served her purpose now and even if she gets it and even if Ox didnt get it they both have ended with the same fate

No idea, but it wasn't working and maybe survey results has something to do with it. It was stale and needed a shake up. I don't agree with it all , but some things had to change.

I want Keith back on Weekends.

Nims must be the long term development prospect, and I mean very long term. Only smart thing I have heard him do (in a roundabout way) is have a mate on co-hosting for an hour who is even worse. Footy season can’t come fast enough, and they really could have just left Keith to pilot it until then.

Who is Keith?

Very interesting lyon suggesting that there is too much cricket, perhaps t20 will take over as society attention span is low. Essentially less is more.

Now that wouldn't have anything to do with freeing up the cricket grounds so that the afl can use them for womens matches, or even afl x would it?

/tin foil hat

AFLX doesnt use cricket grounds.

I don’t like Hutchy but I’m starting to like these changes tbh

This is me. Do not really warm to him but also understand he knows the media landscape and what will probably work for a 24 hour sports station. SEN been around over a decade now. It has been decent but still not as good as would have hoped when first heard of idea of 24 hour sports station. There was not enough contrast between the shows and hours across the day. Now I feel after tuning in and downloading some stuff in last two weeks that there is more contrast and mix across the hours. If I want some relaxed laid back discussion I know I can find it at some point in day and also now if want some more serious stuff can find that too. I am already listening to more of SEN now than what I used to. A lot of hours in the day previously I would tune out or not bother but now I feel virtually from 6 am till 7 pm there is no hour I am going to be completely put off like was in past with some hosts.

In most radio stations the CEO gets less than the on air hosts. No one at SEN would be one more. but Huthcy has an ego the size of Uluru so he would think he is worth it.
Astute observation. Is Hutchy's TOTAL remuneration (inc. super, bonuses, salary sacrificing etc.; & share placements; & Options' rights?) c. $880 k from the combined PSN & Croc. Media?

As is your post directly above re Dr Turf , "...he isn't an 'insider' like most of the football media who scared of offending people".
It helps when you are independently wealthy like Turf-Rothfield; & don't have to worry about "upsetting mates"/job security! Will SEN attract "backburn"/lack of co-operation from sporting orgs. displeased with Turf's abrasive, but accurate, blasts?

I think Dr Turf will get bored doing 5 days x 3 hrs radio per week, arguing with " dumb" talk back callers etc. He will eventually quit, or revert to a few hours a week only. He is good value, generally.

Sooner the better!

How long before SEN just cut up a highlights package from Whateley's morning show to repeat between 6-7pm each day for those that miss out?
What no Sam Mc?

Say it isn’t so.....

How will the world possibly continue?

Listening to the new7pm guy, Jack.

So far just lacks that presence.

Here’s a bit all over the shop.

He’ll get the time to build his repertoire but so far seems s bit light on.

Lacks personality which is hard to improve on, it's natural.

Should have kept Finey with a huge shake up, last chance program. I think it would've worked.

This is just so vanilla.

Agree.
Vanilla.
Not offensive or terrible just vanilla.

Fine connected with his audience. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but nobody pleases everyone.

Knew his stuff, researched, was forthright.

A mistake. In my view.

I also think KB would have worked better 12-3

If I could change things...

If this young (assuming he is young by his perma-grin style) Jack is someone that Hutchinson wants long term, then give him the role that Andy Maher currently has, as I've never understood his appeal. Give Finey this year to freshen up his show otherwise he will be moved on.

This Jack guy for an evening spot is just redundant. It's just advertisements and sports talk that is wet and non-engaging.

Very good call:

Jack was on EON Sports, and one of the reasons (among many) that EON Sports went down the drain, was the line up felt very vanilla.

It tried not to offend, to be something to everyone, never took talk-back calls, it just felt plain and static.

I remember a story of when Michael Gudinski signed Split Enz in the 70s after seeing them at a gig when they were booed off stage!
He's reasoning to signing them; "Any reaction is better than no reaction at all".

Upon hearing some of Whateley's show today, no doubt it was professional with the big name interviews covering a wide variety of sports, I just feel it's not in the right slot.

If I was SEN, I'd have KB (or someone with the KB vibe) in that morning slot, and I'd throw Whateley into breakfast.

I think his covering all sports type of show would work better with a faster pace in breakfast, kind of a re-cap of everything you missed last night and overnight in the world of sport, plus the big footy news stories.

I don't know why breakfast can't start at 7am till 10
