I was fuming after that non decision, especially after the free they have Nic just 30 seconds later. Had Florent been awarded that kick the fourth quarter wouldn't have had much tension

The one that got me was Darling kicking the goal after the obvious push in the back on Mills. Then there was the so-called non-call on Darling later on when the commentators said he should have got a free for holding. I thought "Well that squares it up" but on replay Darling had his arm over the defender's shoulder in a half headlock.

Swings and roundabouts though.

He was just woeful I thought. A bit like for any EPL fans when Raheem Sterling plays for Manchester City against Liverpool, he just stinks the place up every time. Same here for Jets - doesn't look a 10th of the player he was at Sydney

Surprised to see him listed in the the weagles best, definitely looks to have gone backwards in his time out West.

Also like that the team refuses to be bullied. Shuey damn near wet himself after the Swannies went after him following that cheap shot on Hayward. Jackson Nelson also bit off more than he could chew trying to be a tough guy at quarter time. I think he got a phone call during the break. It was 1992. It wanted it's haircut back.

Genuinely perplexed by talk of the Umps getting us over the line. Thought the narrative would have more been about being a one man team with Buddy.. Umps were barely noticeable and when they were made stuff ups both ways.

When Hayward lines up for the 2nd goal Buddy/Parker/JPK & a few others line up behind him & no surprises the Eagles give up the tough guy thing.
Easy to get into a young kid when he is on his own.

Can’t get an idea yet after r1 but I wonder if they would give the same treatment to Macca that they did ROK IF he doesn’t get a kick after a few rounds

Harry was better and set up 3 goals for buddy with a run and long kicking

In a game where we were dysfunctional and rusty for the vast majority of it you find a way to drag the youngest kid in the team. Was Florent great, no. But he was hardly disappointing. Did you expect him to tear the game apart in difficult conditions when most of his team mates were also playing pretty poorly?

You will never give him a chance unless he becomes better than Tom Mitchell

Can we just talk about West Coast supporters for a minute? What absolute shit-stains, embarrassment to the competitions. If Freo should be booted from the competition for being useless as a club, then West Coast should be for having the worst members ever. I’ve sat through a lot of Collingwood games both at the MCG and elsewhere (my best mate is a Pies fan) and I can comprehensively say West Coast supporters make Magpies members look like ******* Harvard graduates.

Most Eagles members are dumb, don’t understand (or care) that footy is a sport where there are TWO teams. Which means yes, the other team will get frees, the other team are capable of playing well, and the other team are allowed to do the basic fundamentals of footy such as tackle an opponent. They don’t know how to be gracious in victory - that was already established - but they also don’t know how to be gracious in defeat.

They can’t envision a world where they would lose a game for any reasons other than: a) the umpires killing them, b) their injuries killing them, c) their fixture being too hard, or d) their own players being so useless that they actually make references to killing them.

Absolute pigs the lot of them and I hope they spend the next decade being a basket case a la Melbourne. Teach their supporters some humility.

But that was a ridiculously hard game for a kid to thrive in. It was just constant pressure, did not give up for the entire game. I thought the fact he kept going and trying even though he wasn’t in the game much to then do some really good things late was actually the very opposite of disappointing. I bring up Mitchell because you aren’t very discrete at hiding your disappointment about the Mitchell trade (I’m with you on that one by the way), but you have basically already made up your mind about Florent because of it.

Not gonna lie this was one occasion where I kind of liked that Horse didn't even try and get cute or creative with the forward line given the lack of personnel. There was something very old-fashioned about the way he clearly just gave his superstar forward a task and the superstar forward was more than up to it. My grandpa even said it was Lockett-esque. Obviously it's not an ideal strategy but I like that Horse and Buddy had the gall to pull it off

Our forward line worked very well last night. We made a lot of space for Buddy and he dominated when we did. Obviously this wouldn't work every day but until an opp is willing to put 2 defenders on Buddy I'd be more than happy to replicate that every night
