Jetta was named in wce best lol lol lol lol.

Jones really needs to mature as a player. Love his attack but his all guns blazing is wearing thin. Needs to find some composure.

At the ground it was easy to see pur set ups just shat all over wce. Our ball movement waa superb in patches but our skills let us down.

In saying that, the kicks coming in to buddy were probably the best hes had since leaving horfs.we were actually kicking to advantage.

Buddys goals, where to begin. It blows my mind that someone can kick 8.1 when they are takinh the shots where he was.

Heeney looks ready to step up from young gun to competition elite. He moves so sweetly across the ground, kicking on his non prefferred is effortless and he really is starting to trouble opposition. His awareness is very good. Gathers ball up running opposite way and instead of turning ant clockwise into a player to get on to his right, he will turn the other way (if thats where the oppo is positioned) to get onto his left and give himself that much more room.

Only injury will stop him from being in the AA squad this year

Reg was a concern last night. Hopefully just first game back blues.

Not sure how Jetta got in best being there live, he was very ordinary.

Pleasure to watch Franklin live the guy is actually ridiculous, I know he beat us but the guys a pleasure to watch.

Heeney absolutely brilliant, top 5 player in the comp in the next 3 years.

Structurally really really good and could see that live, much better around the stoppages and cleaner, both teams let down by skills at times but the space and set up in your forward line light years ahead if ours!

Great first up win

Just reading the game day thread now. Don't read it on the day as I'm one of those 'if you must be here then sit down and shut up' type people when I'm watching a swans game. The stress levels of the posters is through theroof and they have't reached the third quarter yet! Its always good for laugh once the results are known, but their reactions to the third should be a crack up!!!

Thanks for putting that up. Interesting:
Q3 Harry C was our most highly rated player.
Nick Smith had a cracker game but isn't reflected in the ratings.Buddy kicks 8, many against Barrass, but Barrass ends up top 6. WTF?
I really don't get this system.

They’re not great at capturing defensive work. It mainly judges what you do with the ball.

Hey fellas - was wondering if anyone could point me at grundy’s 20m time at the draft combine.

Had an argument with the old boy who reckons he was slower than priddis

Which i think isnt possible!!

That was before the internet, so not sure anyone could possibly tell you.

Reg was a concern last night. Hopefully just first game back blues.

Bit hard on Reg there. He basically just had a stay at home role vs Waterman. Waterman barely got a touch in Reg's area all night.

When he tried to run Reg up the ground, we just switched and a mid took him between the arcs.

Waterman's only mark and goal on Reg came because Masten shepherded Reg during Waterman's lead. Bit of bad luck there.

One thing Reg did very well was mind the resting Ruck. He destroyed Lycett. Nic Nat ran him around in non dangerous areas upfield late for a couple of scary mins - but Reg was just in that position because Rampe was off getting treatment. That wasn't by design.

Melican and AA need to really step up this year, though.

Amongst the lesser lights, I liked the look of Melican, has gone up a notch from last year, looks composed, makes the right decisions and appears to be a little more attacking. One of the key defensive posts filled for the next decade IMO.

By my rough count, I reckon we had 10 of the 22 last night as rookie list graduates, that's a massive tick for Kinnear Beatson, doubt any other club gets close to that.

There was a one on one chase with florent and and a bigger eagle and florent applied an enormois amount of physical pressure and neutralised the contest and probably deserved a free.. i was very impressed
I have no idea how Florent didn't get a free for HTB. Baffling. Great effort from him. It'll take him time to develop his game sense but his effort and his instincts are good. Worth persisting with.

AFL Player Ratings for Round 1.

Jetta

Well this is decisive evidence that we won the Jetta - Sinclair trade ;)

I want Aliir in for Port. Could do with even more run and dash from the HB line. But who do we take out?
I want to see him play backup ruck but he seems to be down that pecking order. Sinclair battled manfully but he got monstered by Nic Nat and will get touched up by the quality ruckman. It appears that we're OK with that and it'll be all about work to shark the ball and get the clearance. That worked well as we won both centre clearances and clearances around the ground. I reckon we'll play one specialist ruckman all year and have Reid and Towers chop out as necessary. I'd like to see Cameron or Aliir as a backup and rotate them through the forward or back line.

We are really missing hanners. Massive disconnect between HB and the mids at times because we don't have any proper running power. We struggle to make space without him.

Could hardly run when needed, head down when beaten; Reg never does that. Will have to watch the game again but I saw it very differently.

I was fuming after that non decision, especially after the free they have Nic just 30 seconds later. Had Florent been awarded that kick the fourth quarter wouldn't have had much tension
