I think Cox has decided to attack Port and this is the team to do it (in his mind). Run hard at them. Hope he's right but he has to try something.
Hopefully we see Sheldrick head to head with Horne-Francis and Jordon on Butters. Francis on Ratugalea. Swans by 3 goals.
I wouldn't be surprised if you absolutely nailed it here. The way to beat Port is by running it through their defence and therefore not kicking it to their interceptors. With Aliir out and Francis trying to keep Esava quiet we should be in with a good chance. I expect to see us run and handball a lot more than usual this match.

His contract ends this year.
He's not getting another.
He's not part of the future plans.
So why bother playing him?
Will agree to disagree here, understand your perspective.

Don’t think this is the end and I would be even more shocked if there wasn’t at least a 1yr extension. Firmly believe Lloyd has a lot left to offer.

Let’s see how it plays out, one of us will be wrong.

No player gets offered an extension if they are in the reserves.
It's not a hot take.

Good names on paper. Not expecting them all to be amazing fist game back, but bar Logan all our best 22 were available to pick from. Maybe with Lloyd, Co Warner and Florent in the ressies there might finally be some pressure for spots too.

Excited to see how we go the next 10 weeks, been hard to get a read on where we're really at. Whether there's the need to blow whole list up or whether it's just a case of a few minor tweaks to build better better depth etc.
We'll know where Cox is really at too because whatever the system should be recognisable with almost the full compliment.

Was wondering if he was going to have the kahunas to drop Lloyd when this moment came, so kudos to him for actually doing it. (I mean sad to see a former champ battling, but the call to drop, whether permanently or until he finds form just had to be made).

Subs have to be ready for a full game. Club obviously thinks both Gulden and Papley can play a full game because they are in the 23.

Anything else would be irresponsible.
I am happy that Gulden and Papley are back but concerned that neither will be able to run out a full game, if the game is tight and yes that is a big if, they might run out of steam.

I’m surprised by the negativity on here. Overall good and difficult calls made.

As much as I love Corey’s endeavour,
I have never seen enough to think he can be a regular starter in a contending team. And Lloyd has had a year to forget.

If it were me, I probably would have kept Roberts out, played Mills back, Jmac on the wing and then Caiden (or Florent) at half forward. But Caiden hasn’t been pulling great numbers and Florent is clearly on the outer, so I can respect the Roberts call.

It will be exciting to watch a swans outfit with only one major injury.

Florent not even an emergency. Although that’s probably down to covering similar positions to Lloyd
i find it a real odd one. I don't understand the reasoning for singling him out. Even if he seemed out of form he has been no where near our worst performers. And taking into consideration the state of the squad at time i'm left scratching my head.
