Problem is that if it isn't said then (whether it's agreed with or not) when he has the ear of the press it may as well never be said. You might prefer that (absolutely your right) but I think it needed to be said.Yep, I read the whole statement.
And yes, there was some context and nuance.
But the underlying message was that he was treated differently at the selection table & in the press because he’s Muslim.
Rubbish - through his career, he he was dropped when out of form. Not because he’s Muslim.
And the scrutiny of his back injury was absolutely nothing to do with his religion. It was fair scrutiny of a 39 year old selected despite poor form & contributing nothing to an Ashes test due to injury that he may have carried into the game.
I like Uzzi. And he’s been a solid test cricketer. But I found that particular outburst needless victimhood & I think Jason Gillespie got it right when he called it a temper tantrum.
Reminds me a little of Goodes' situation when so many found "reasons" that it wasn't racism.
