Think he’s too slow of mind, but he’s a good backup option.

Tough and grunty, lot to like but reckon his decision making limits him

Really glad to see him do well tonight though

Hopefully the decision making will improve to an extent once he settles into the side. Has missed a lot of football lately and has never had a decent run at AFL level.

I think there’s going to always be the odd brain fade, but he’s got himself super fit and there’s a lot to like. Team player too.

Nail. Hammer. Head.

Decision making and not the greatest of kicks! That handball to the inside of the goal in the 3rd quarter that resulted in one of Martin’s goals sums up his decision making. It was a true WTF moment.

Bit as you say, good back up option with a lot to like.

I like him, big body, tall in comparison to our other mids.

Should get a good run of games now so we can see if he settles and grows into the game or not, I reckon he could cement a spot.

More importantly, did you think we were cooked when we lost Mackay’s running patterns? Personally, I thought our chances of winning improved when Mackay went down.

Cam is a beast.

So happy he got another chance and is grabbing it. Took some awesome grabs and is huge in the contest.

Lucky Vader didnt delist him 5 years ago.

Still some efftards that only rate on games played. There's a few of them. Numpties.

Don't disagree about his speed of mind. But when they come at you, and your strength allows extra time to give, we can't expect much more than getting the nut into the right spot. As i said from his first moments years ago, CAN PLAY.
Good core strength and excellent below his knees. Needs games in the hustle and bustle of the midfield to improve his decision making. I've always been a fan and glad to see him do well tonight. We're going to need him.

We've got some size in the midfield now with Gibbs, Greenwood, CEY in there. Quite liked CEYs game. Needs to take a few grabs - point of difference he can offer.

Did enjoy opening a CEY thread and getting a DMac potshot thrown in for free too. Thread is value for money.

Regardless of if he is best 22 or not, will be handy to keep as a rookie for a few years yet. Really noticed him and greenwood as round the ground marking targets.

He has his run at a best 22 spot right now. He is competing with Greenwood and Douglas.

I hate saying negative things about CEY because he seems like (from social media, afc.com.au etc) an absolutely outstanding person, And tonight he was really, really good when Crouch went down - YES not perfect,. but he did some really great things, but the reality is, he is probably always going to be a fringe / 17-25 on the list kinda player - and those players are incredibly valuable, albeit sometimes frustrating.

Definitely worth keeping around the club, has solid value.

2 games back from ACL and this guy has so much negativity. 3rd highest possessions tonight, clunks contested marks (our midfielders apart from Sloane can be poor), has great hands in traffic and is fantastic at drawing a player and getting free to release a handball to another free player.

Great game against tigers, comeback is coming together well

Just happy for him to get a chance, not happy it means we have injuries, but at least he may get a good run at it to say once and for all if he can or cant.

If we have our best 22 fit he misses, no doubt. What's great is that him showing he can play a bit and gives us big body grunt in the contest. So if someone is carrying at any stage, hopefully they'll get the rest they need to get right, rather than hobble to the line like Thor did last year.

On that, 2016 a good example too. Thommo started the year on fire and then hit a wall. We rested him for 2 individual games, neither solved the problem. Thommo should have had a 6 week mini preseason to be primed for finals, returning in our final 2 rounds. CEY should have been trusted throughout that run of games. Win/win.

I agree, he has played games here and there and then out with his knee. Looks like he will get the opportunity to string a few together and hopefully improves every week. Would love to see him succeed.
